Motivation

I am concerned about contributing to the world, not about making money.  This presents a challenge in a capitalist society.

My motivation comes from a desire to help others, not from a desire to make money.  A capitalist society is not the optimal design for my kind.

What motivates you?

How do you fit into the bigger picture?

I see earning money as necessary, since we do live in a capitalist society. I try to embrace the Buddhist principle of right livelihood — earning money in an ethical way that doesn’t harm society. Like you, my biggest concern is that I have contributed to the world in a positive way in some manner. I want to do my part to encourage peace, justice, love, sustainability, respect, creativity.
