I held his grown body as he cried.
All ego disappeared.
The sad little boy crawled out from inside
all the pain and fear.
He held me with a tight fierce grip,
letting tender feelings show.
“I’m sorry Mom” was all he said.
“It’s okay son. I know.”
“This age is never easy. Right now’s a difficult time.
I wish I’d done a better job.”
“No Mom, you did just fine.”
The sobs where heard from both sides now. No longer kept inside.
All barriers freely broken down. No reasons left to hide.
We held each other heart to heart, no hurry to let go.
A bond had been revisited, a love we would always know.
