Hunger Pains

Is it your body I crave,

Or do I just need something sweet?

The answer’s not too clear.

Yet, I am quite certain –

I’m fucking starving whenever you’re near.

I like the hunger imagery you employed, it gives the poem a sort of verisimilitude that one can easily relate to.

Nice one, Suzanne. I like the way the uncertainty at the outset transforms into concrete certainty by the end. It’s a different kind of writing than I’m used to from you but I really like the raw emotion and hunger 🙂
