We source our mulch from multiple landscape supply yards, which vary from location to location.
We mainly offer black mulch, brown (hardwood) mulch, and cedar mulch, as these are the most common used mulches, so we order it in bulk (More savings for you). We do offer red mulch, pine bark mulch, and more, but the price will be a bit higher due to the fact we acquire this mulch on a job-to-job basis. Other mulch colors are available, but those are the standard options
Our mulch services run at about $150 per yard installed. We do have bulk discounts if you need more than 10 yards, but 90% of homeowners and businesses don't use more than 3-5 yards, giving you a ballpark of $400-700 for a full delivery, install, and cleanup.
Depending on the time of year, the best time to apply mulch is mid spring, like April. This helps with weed suppression, but also ensures that the ground is warm enough for your plants in the yard. You may also install mulch in the late September, early October time of year, and this can help protect the root systems of your plants during the harsh winter months in Michigan.
It depends if we need to. If your mulch is a few years old, and was laid extra thick, its best to remove it to prevent any molding. Even though mulch does break down, when laid too thick, it can cause water to trap and cause mold in the mulch. No bueno for your plants! Again, it is a case by case basis.
Lawnade provides mulch installations for residential and commercial properties in Southeast Michigan and surrounding areas. Mulching has numerous advantages that homeowners can enjoy. Firstly, mulch helps to conserve moisture in the soil, reducing the need for frequent irrigation, which can save time and money. Secondly, mulch acts as a natural insulator, regulating soil temperature, and protecting plant roots from harsh weather conditions. Additionally, mulch provides a protective barrier against weeds, preventing competition for nutrients with desirable plants. Lastly, mulch gradually adds organic matter to the soil as it decomposes, promoting healthy soil ecology. With Lawnade Lawn Care, residents can take advantage of all these benefits and more, ensuring their yards look their best throughout the growing season. Contact us today for a free estimate.
