Lawn mowing typically costs $45 to $190 per visit, depending on lawn size and how often you schedule service.
Lawn Size Price Range Small (under 2,000 sq ft )$45 – $55 Average (2,000 – 5,000 sq ft) $49 – $70 Large (6,000 – 10,000 sq ft) $70 – $120 Very large (over 10,000 sq ft) $100 – $200
What changes the price:
Lawn size is the biggest factor — more square footage means more mow time. Service frequency matters too. Bi-weekly mowing costs about 50% more per visit than weekly, since grass grows longer between cuts and takes more time (and more bagging/cleanup) to manage. Lawns that are "not sure" on size get quoted after a quick property lookup or on-site visit.
Why mowing is priced as a range, not a flat fee: Two "average" lawns can take very different amounts of time depending on obstacles (trees, garden beds, slopes), grass type, and how recently it was cut. We finalize your exact price after seeing satellite imagery or doing a quick walk of the property.
How much does mulching cost?
Mulch installation ranges from $200 to $5,000, depending on the size of your landscape beds and how much mulch is needed.
Mulch color/type — cedar and pine bark run about 10% higher than standard brown, black, or dark brown mulch. Old mulch removal adds roughly 25% to the project if you want the old, faded mulch pulled before fresh mulch goes down. Weeding and pre-emergent treatment before mulching adds $200–$2,000, depending on how overgrown the beds are.
Why mulch pricing varies so much: Mulch is sold and delivered by the yard, so bed size directly drives material cost. Labor time also increases with bed complexity: beds with lots of curves, plants to work around, or edging needs take longer than open, simple beds. Also the size of the property matters if we have to wheelbarrow mulch 50 yards away versus it being right by the street, our labor hours are going to go up.
How much does yard cleanup cost?
Seasonal yard cleanups range from $200 to $2500, based on yard size and how much work is involved.
Yard Size Price Range: Small $200 -$350 Average $300 – $500 Large $450 – $950 Very large (over 20,000 sq ft)$900 – $2500
What changes the price:
Basic cleanup (leaf and debris removal only) is the baseline price. Standard cleanup (adds bed weeding and trimming) runs about 10%-20% more. Deep cleanup (adds mulch refresh, heavy pruning, and gutter cleaning) can run 50% more than basic.
Why the range is wide: "Cleanup" means different things to different homeowners — some just want leaves off the lawn, others want the whole property reset for the season. We size the quote to exactly what you want done.
How much does tree and shrub trimming cost?
Tree and shrub trimming typically costs $60 to $1,500, depending on plant size and how many need trimming.
Plant Height Price Range Small (up to 6 ft) $120 – $180 Medium (6–12 ft) $180 – $500 Large (over 12 ft, non-mature trees/hedges) $400 – $1,500
Note: We trim large shrubs and hedges up to 30+ feet, but we don't trim mature large trees like 50-ft oaks — that requires a certified arborist.
Service-specific pricing:
Tree pruning: $120 – $220 Shrub shaping: $60 – $160 Dead branch removal: $90 – $140
Volume discounts factor in too — trimming 4–6 plants adds about 10% to a single-plant price, and 7+ plants adds about 20%, reflecting the added time, not a per-plant multiple.
How much does aeration and overseeding cost?
Aeration ranges from $250 to $1,200, and jumps to roughly double if you add overseeding.
Lawn Size Aeration Only Small (under 3,000 sq ft) $250 – $325 Average (3,000 – 7,000 sq ft)$250 – $400 Large (10,000 – 20,000 sq ft)$400 – $600 Very large (over 20,000 sq ft)$600 – $1,200
Adding overseeding costs about 125% more than aeration alone, since it includes seed, labor for even distribution, and often a starter fertilizer application.
Why we recommend aeration + overseeding together: Aerating alone relieves soil compaction, but overseeding right after gives new grass the best possible seed-to-soil contact — most lawn care pros consider them a package deal for thin or compacted lawns.
How much does dethatching cost?
Dethatching costs $235 to $1,400, based on lawn size and thatch severity.
Lawn Size Price Range Small (up to 2,500 sq ft)$235 – $350 Medium (2,500 – 8,000 sq ft)$250 – $600 Large (8,000+ sq ft)$500 – $1,400
Thatch severity affects price:
Light thatch (you bag clippings and dethatch yearly): baseline price Moderate thatch: +10% Heavy thatch (never dethatched): +20% Sometimes when it hasn't been done for a long time, the crew would have to go over it 1-3 times, which is quite rough on the machines.
Add-on treatments:
Soil aeration: +80% Overseeding: +100%
How much does gutter cleaning cost?
Gutter cleaning costs $275 to $500 flat, based on home size, with adjustments for height and roof pitch.
Home Size Base Price Small $300 Medium $420 Large $500-1200
What changes the price:
Two-story homes add about 10% Three+ story homes add about 25% Roof steepness: flat roofs have no added cost, moderately steep roofs add 10%, and very steep roofs add 30% for the extra safety equipment and time required. All of our crew members are trained with full gutter systems in mind and we have different pressure washing and downspout cleaning techniques to make sure that everything is cleared out.
How much does recurring property care cost?
(Regular trimming, weeding, and leaf cleanup — no mowing)
Recurring property care starts at a $100 base visit fee, with total cost driven by bed size, plant density, tree cover, and how often you want service.
Landscape bed weeding (by size):
Bed Size Price Range Small (under 1,000 sq ft / <3 yards mulch)$50 – $100 Medium (1,000–3,000 sq ft / 3–10 yards)$150 – $250 Large (3,000+ sq ft / 10+ yards)$300 – $500
Minimal tree cover: $30 – $60 Light tree cover: $70 – $200 Half tree cover: $200 – $400 Heavy tree cover: $300 – $900
Service frequency:
Bi-weekly: baseline Monthly: +25% Quarterly: +100% (reflects more overgrowth per visit)
I highly recommend getting recurring maintenance versus just doing one or two cleanups a year. Often times one or two cleanups can cost $500 to $2,000 per cleanup, which makes your total anywhere from $1,000 to $4,000 a year. Recurring maintenance is a more consistent price, making it easier to budget and manage. Please note, however, that you do need an initial cleanup to get started into maintenance unless your property is in pristine condition.
How much does weeding cost?
Standalone weeding service costs $150 to $600, based on area size and weed density.
Area Size Price Range Small (up to 500 sq ft / <3 yards mulch beds) $150 – $250 Medium (500–2,000 sq ft / 3–8 yards) $200 – $400 Large (2,000+ sq ft / 9+ yards) $300 – $600
Weed density adjusts price:
Well-maintained beds: baseline Moderate weeds (beds still visible): +25% Completely overgrown: +80% A lot of customers like to go with our maintenance plans so that their weeding costs stay low on a per-visit basis. A lot of times people think just paying for one or two times a year is the cheaper option when actually if you spread it across the entire year, the pricing is generally about the same but you get it looking great all year long. You just have to take into account that you have to pay for the initial cleanup.
How much does fall leaf cleanup cost?
Fall leaf cleanup costs $200 to $1,000, primarily driven by yard size and tree cover.
Yard Size Price Range Small $300 – $400 Medium $300 – $600 Large $500 – $1,000
Tree cover has the biggest impact on leaf volume:
Minimal tree cover: baseline Light tree cover: +15% Half tree cover: +35% Heavy tree cover ("we live in the trees"): up to +100%
I do want to also mention that a lot of times the tree canopies are thicker than people realize. Furthermore the number of trees and how big the trees play a huge factor into the pricing. We have done leaf cleanups that are higher for some customers because of the tree density but also because we had to haul away all the leaves. Taking that into account is definitely something you should be thinking about, whether you need them hauled away or if they can just be blown into a corner of the property or if they can just be blown into the street.
Why do lawn care and yard maintenance prices vary so much?
Every property is different: square footage, terrain, plant density, and tree cover all change how long a job takes and how much material it requires. We use satellite imagery and, when needed, an on-site visit to give you an accurate quote rather than a generic flat rate that doesn't reflect your actual yard. Furthermore if you're going with a reputable company for lawn care and landscaping, you do have to realize that they have a lot of costs that a chuck-in-a-truck or a one-man band doesn't have.
For example we do consistent training with our teams. Before we even send out a single person to a customer's property, we train them for a few days on practice areas that we constructed specifically for this reason. We don't just throw them in a truck and give them a shirt. We fully vet them and train them to make sure that our customers are getting the best people possible at their property and can trust us. On top of that we pay for software and we have a trained office team that takes care of the customer communication side of things. We also want to be able to offer our employees a great workplace and that does include pay time off as well as paid company events. To do that it takes money, which means we need to charge the customer a fair amount so that the company can be profitable and also be a great working environment while also providing great service that will make you return every single time.
