Originally from Canada, he is a geologist with more than 25 years of experience working across a range of technical and management roles for BHP, Rio Tinto and other major producers. Initially with significant exploration focus, including the development of exploration strategy as a platform for global growth, followed by mining development projects in Africa and South America, with a particular emphasis on critical minerals.
