Summary

  • add a canonical nested streaming config shape for Telegram, Discord, and Slack preview delivery
  • migrate legacy flat streaming keys into the nested shape through config ingest and doctor flows
  • add contract guardrails and regenerate config metadata so public surfaces stay canonical

Verification

  • pnpm test:serial src/plugin-sdk/channel-streaming.test.ts extensions/slack/src/stream-mode.test.ts extensions/slack/src/doctor.test.ts extensions/discord/src/draft-chunking.test.ts extensions/discord/src/doctor.test.ts extensions/telegram/src/bot.helpers.test.ts extensions/telegram/src/doctor.test.ts src/plugins/contracts/config-footprint-guardrails.test.ts
  • pnpm test:serial src/commands/doctor-config-flow.test.ts -t "preserves discord streaming intent while stripping unsupported keys on repair|warns clearly about legacy channel streaming aliases and points to doctor --fix|warns clearly about legacy thread binding ttlHours config and points to doctor --fix|sanitizes config-derived doctor warnings and changes before logging"
  • pnpm config:schema:check
  • pnpm config:docs:check
  • pnpm config:channels:check
  • pnpm build

Notes

  • also includes a tiny follow-up build fix in src/auto-reply/reply/dispatch-acp.runtime.ts because latest origin/main was red there and it blocked the required build gate

Greptile Summary

This PR introduces a canonical nested streaming config shape (streaming.{mode, chunkMode, block, preview}) for Telegram, Discord, and Slack, replacing legacy flat keys (streamMode, chunkMode, blockStreaming, draftChunk, blockStreamingCoalesce, nativeStreaming). It adds migration paths through both config ingest and doctor flows, updates Zod schemas and TypeScript types, regenerates config metadata, and exports a new channel-streaming Plugin SDK subpath with compat helpers that read from both old and new formats.

Confidence Score: 5/5

Safe to merge — migration logic is correct and all remaining findings are P2 style suggestions.

The nested config shape migration is well-structured with compat shims that read both old and new formats. Runtime resolvers correctly fall back to legacy flat fields before and after migration. Type changes are aligned with Zod schema updates and doctor flows. The two P2 findings are non-blocking: a double-invocation of a pure resolver that is extractable to a local variable, and cosmetically redundant change messages in the rare edge case where both streamMode and boolean streaming are set simultaneously.

No files require special attention; both findings are P2 style suggestions that do not block merge.

Comment:
**Double invocation of resolver function**

`resolveChannelStreamingBlockEnabled(discordConfig)` is called twice — once for the `typeof` guard and once for the negated value. Extract it to a local to make the intent clearer. The same pattern appears in `extensions/telegram/src/bot-message-dispatch.ts` (lines 393–396) and `extensions/discord/src/monitor/native-command.ts`.

How can I resolve this? If you propose a fix, please make it concise.

Comment:
**Duplicate change messages when both `streamMode` and boolean `streaming` coexist**

When a config entry has both `streamMode: "block"` and `streaming: false`, the outer `if (hadLegacyStreamMode)` block and the inner `if (typeof beforeStreaming === "boolean")` block both push a change message claiming to be the source of `streaming.mode`. The resolved value (`"block"`, from `streamMode`) is then attributed to both — the boolean message says `"streaming (boolean) → streaming.mode (block)"` even though `false` would normally resolve to `"off"`. A user reading doctor output would see two contradictory-looking messages. The same pattern exists in `extensions/slack/src/doctor.ts` and `extensions/telegram/src/doctor-contract.ts`.

How can I resolve this? If you propose a fix, please make it concise.

P1 Badge Import temp-home helpers before new config snapshot tests

These new strict-validation cases invoke withTempHome, writeOpenClawConfig, and readConfigFileSnapshot, but none of them are imported in this file. As a result, running the added tests (for example pnpm test src/config/config-misc.test.ts -t "accepts top-level memorySearch via auto-migration and reports legacyIssues") immediately fails with ReferenceError: withTempHome is not defined, so the test lane breaks before validating the intended migration behavior.

Add Amazon Bedrock as a native embedding provider for memory search.
Supports Titan Embed Text v1/v2 and Cohere Embed models via AWS SDK.

- New embeddings-bedrock.ts: BedrockRuntimeClient + InvokeModel
- Auth via AWS default credential chain (same as Bedrock inference)
- Auto-selected in 'auto' mode when AWS credentials are detected
- Titan V2: configurable dimensions (256/512/1024), normalization
- Cohere: native batch support with search_query/search_document types
- 16 new tests covering all model types, auth detection, edge cases

* feat(bedrock-mantle): add IAM credential auth via @aws/bedrock-token-… (openclaw#61563)

* feat(bedrock-mantle): add IAM credential auth via @aws/bedrock-token-generator

Mantle previously required a manually-created API key (AWS_BEARER_TOKEN_BEDROCK).
This adds automatic bearer token generation from IAM credentials using the
official @aws/bedrock-token-generator package.

Auth priority:
1. Explicit AWS_BEARER_TOKEN_BEDROCK env var (manual API key from Console)
2. IAM credentials via getTokenProvider() → Bearer token (instance roles,
SSO profiles, access keys, EKS IRSA, ECS task roles)

Token is cached in memory (1hr TTL, generated with 2hr validity) and in
process.env.AWS_BEARER_TOKEN_BEDROCK for downstream sync reads.

Falls back gracefully when package is not installed or credentials are
unavailable — Mantle provider simply not registered.

* fix: stop emitting post-background exec updates (openclaw#61627) (thanks @openperf)

* fix(exec ): stop emitting tool updates after session is backgrounded

When an exec session is backgrounded (background: true), the owning
agent run resolves its tool-call promise and may finish. The stdout
handler's emitUpdate() closure, however, kept invoking opts.onUpdate(),
delivering tool_execution_update events to a listener whose active run
had already ended. This surfaced as an unhandled rejection and crashed
the gateway process.

Guard emitUpdate() with a session.backgrounded || session.exited check
so that post-background output is still captured via appendOutput() but
no longer forwarded to the (now-stale) agent-loop callback.

* feat(memory): add Bedrock embedding provider for memory search

Add Amazon Bedrock as a native embedding provider for memory search.
Supports Titan Embed Text v1/v2 and Cohere Embed models via AWS SDK.

- New embeddings-bedrock.ts: BedrockRuntimeClient + InvokeModel
- Auth via AWS default credential chain (same as Bedrock inference)
- Auto-selected in 'auto' mode when AWS credentials are detected
- Titan V2: configurable dimensions (256/512/1024), normalization
- Cohere: native batch support with search_query/search_document types
- 16 new tests covering all model types, auth detection, edge cases

Closes openclaw#26289

* feat(bedrock-mantle): add IAM credential auth via @aws/bedrock-token-generator

Mantle previously required a manually-created API key (AWS_BEARER_TOKEN_BEDROCK).
This adds automatic bearer token generation from IAM credentials using the
official @aws/bedrock-token-generator package.

Auth priority:
1. Explicit AWS_BEARER_TOKEN_BEDROCK env var (manual API key from Console)
2. IAM credentials via getTokenProvider() → Bearer token (instance roles,
SSO profiles, access keys, EKS IRSA, ECS task roles)

Token is cached in memory (1hr TTL, generated with 2hr validity) and in
process.env.AWS_BEARER_TOKEN_BEDROCK for downstream sync reads.

Falls back gracefully when package is not installed or credentials are
unavailable — Mantle provider simply not registered.

* fix: stop emitting post-background exec updates (openclaw#61627) (thanks @openperf)

* fix(exec ): stop emitting tool updates after session is backgrounded

When an exec session is backgrounded (background: true), the owning
agent run resolves its tool-call promise and may finish. The stdout
handler's emitUpdate() closure, however, kept invoking opts.onUpdate(),
delivering tool_execution_update events to a listener whose active run
had already ended. This surfaced as an unhandled rejection and crashed
the gateway process.

Guard emitUpdate() with a session.backgrounded || session.exited check
so that post-background output is still captured via appendOutput() but
no longer forwarded to the (now-stale) agent-loop callback.

Backend changes for session sidebar feature:
- session.ts: create compound key entry for old session when /new triggered
- agent.ts: pass preserveHistory=true to session reset
- session-reset-service.ts: add file reuse optimization for preserved sessions
- types.ts: add previousSessionKey field to SessionEntry
- session-utils.ts: add compound key support in session key resolution

This enables the UI to show previous sessions in sidebar while
preserving complete chat history for archived sessions.
