In case a firewall closes long persistent connections between Beats & Logstash, errors such as write tcp ... write: connection reset by peer will be reported by a given Beat.
This documentation page should be useful to identify this kind of issues.

Add documentation for troubleshooting Beats to LS connections

You have also to set "pipelining: 0".
Else ttl setting is not effective (as documented)

Thank you @fbaligand - The first objective is to also add a link the Logstash output documentation.
The incompatibility with pipelining might change in the future, but you're right - it's worth mentioning at the moment.

@lucabelluccini Yes! I can backport it. Just let me know which versions you want it in. Typically, we'll go back one version unless it's a critical fix. The CI tends to fail on the older branches. Hit Squash and merge if you're ready!
