World Asthma May 2026

In alignment with the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) theme for World Asthma Day, the Global Allergy & Airways Patient Platform has launched its 2026 campaign, “We Are All Woven Together.” At the heart of this initiative is a global asthma testimonial map, designed to amplify patient voices across countries and cultures.
This interactive platform highlights both the shared realities and stark disparities in asthma care worldwide—bringing visibility to unmet needs, particularly in underserved regions. Despite geographic and socioeconomic differences, the message is consistent: all people living with asthma need timely, personalized, and optimal care.
Because asthma does not exist in isolation, effective management is not only about symptom control—it is about enabling quality of life. It affects the ability to work, to care for others, to pursue passions, and to live according to one’s values. This campaign underscores that improving asthma care benefits not only patients, but also their families, caregivers, and communities.
Share your experience accessing asthma treatment—your story can help highlight gaps, raise awareness, and drive meaningful change for others.

This map has been developed for awareness, education, and advocacy purposes only. The testimonials presented are anonymized and reflect real lived experiences shared by individuals affected by asthma. As submissions are self-reported and no contact information is collected from contributors, GAAPP cannot independently verify the accuracy of each account.

What does it mean to be in “remission” from asthma? Does it mean the disease is gone, or that treatment is no longer needed? In this webinar, we will explore what clinical remission in asthma really means, what it does not mean, and why ongoing care remains important. Through expert insights and patient experience, participants will gain a clearer understanding of how remission is defined, what it may look like in daily life, and how to maintain control over time.
