There is a gas that is always present, silent, accompanying us on every dive. And yet, at the same time, it limits our depth, our bottom time, and even how we feel when we exit the water. That gas is Nitrogen.

It is Nitrogen that:
  • Prevents us from staying longer to enjoy the bottom.
  • Is behind decompression sickness (DCS).
  • Has a potent narcotic effect that reduces our performance underwater.

And yet, we continue to breathe air with nearly 79% Nitrogen. Curious, isn’t it?

Prerequisites

  • Be at least 12 years of age, with parental or guardian authorization for those under 18.
  • Hold a RAID Open Water 20 certification or equivalent, issued by a recognized organization.

Course Schedule

The Nitrox Course includes 2 theory sessions and 2 recommended dives to integrate the concepts in real-world conditions. If you prefer to focus only on the theory, you can take it either in-person or online.

Day 1 (4 hours)

  • Course Introduction.
  • Theory 1
    • Applied physics and physiology, Dalton’s Law, toxicities, safe planning with Nitrox.
  • Theory 2
    • Nitrox production methods, oxygen service equipment, analysis, and labeling.

Day 2 (4 hours)

  • Dive 1 with Nitrox.

  • Dive 2 with practice in analysis, planning, and control.

Price:

  • Theory Only: €99 + VAT | Theory + Dives: €249 + VAT (Prices valid until 31/12/2026)

Ratio:

  • Minimum 2 – Maximum 4 students

  • Access to the RAID Free E-learning platform.

  • All necessary equipment for the practical sessions: cylinders and gases.

Not Included in the price:

  • The RAID International Certification fee (€59 + VAT).
  • Student accommodation and meals.
  • Nitrox fills.
  • Equipment rental.
  • Boat fees (if applicable).
  • Instructor expenses, if the course is not held at the Cabo de Gata Fill Station (to be divided among all students):

What’s next after this course?

Upon successful completion of the course, you will be qualified to dive with Nitrox up to 40% without direct supervision, always within the limits of your certification.
