DECOMPRESSION / LIMITED TRIMIX DECOMPRESSION

If you already master the Twinset or Sidemount configuration, you know that spending more time at the bottom comes with a price: longer decompression stops. Would you like to reduce those wait times at the anchor line while increasing your safety?

In this course, you will take the next logical step: integrating a stage bottle loaded with Nitrox (up to 100% oxygen). This tool allows us to accelerate nitrogen off-gassing to surface sooner, significantly reducing the decompression obligation. Furthermore, having an alternative gas at the maximum operating depth provides an extra gas source during the dive, completely transforming our risk management.

This is the true entry point to the wonderful world of decompression diving. Throughout the program, we will analyze in depth the physics and physiology that govern our bodies under pressure, breaking down Decompression theories to understand the “what” and “why” of every stop. You will learn to plan Deco dives with your own criteria, selecting the most suitable gases for each objective and training protocols to resolve any emergency situation with total safety.

Upon completing this certification, you will have the necessary training to perform dives with mandatory stops up to 40 meters using air as a bottom gas, or up to 45 meters using Helitrox Trimix. It is time to leave behind the limitations of conventional recreational diving and start diving smarter, safer, and more technically.

Prerequisites

    • Be at least 18 years old.

    • Be certified as RAID Open Water 20 and RAID Deep 40 (or equivalent), or RAID Explorer 30, or RAID Advanced 35 (or equivalent).

    • Be certified in RAID Sidemount or RAID Twinset (or equivalent).

    • Have at least 30 logged dive hours, or 25 open-circuit dives.

    • Current medical statement.

    • Valid accident insurance (covering dives up to 45 meters with decompression).

Course Schedule

The course takes place over a total of 5 sessions designed for solid progression.

We begin with online sessions (8 hr) where we delve into the physics, physiology, and decompression theories necessary to plan dives with mandatory stops and select optimal gases. Once in the in-person phase, we dedicate the first day to technical equipment configuration, the stage bottle workshop, and land drills.

Following this preparation, we face three days of intensive dives where we apply the learned protocols until reaching the maximum depth of the course. For those wishing to extend their certification up to 45 meters through the Limited Trimix Decompression specialty, we add a specific fifth day of diving with helium mixes.

  • Practice 1: Stage Bottle Configuration Workshop
  • Theory 1: Dive Planning
  • Practice 2: Confined Water Session
  • Practice 3: Confined Water Session
  • Dive 1: Descent to 25 m (Simulated Deco)
  • Dive 2: Descent to 30 m (Simulated Deco)
  • Dive 3: Descent to 35 m (Real Deco)

  • Dive 4: Descent to 40 m (Real Deco)

  • Dive 5: Descent to 45 m with Tx (Real Deco)
