FlightStream by Research in Flight is a fast, surface-based computational fluid dynamics (CFD) solver designed for high-fidelity aerodynamic analysis with rapid turnaround times. Built on an advanced, vorticity-based boundary element method, it captures key viscous effects and flow separation while requiring only a surface mesh—eliminating the need for time-consuming volume meshing.

Engineers use FlightStream across conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design phases to evaluate complex configurations, including fixed-wing aircraft, rotorcraft, propellers, ducted fans, and emerging eVTOL concepts. The software delivers aerodynamic forces and moments, pressure distributions, flow visualization, and wake interaction insights, making it well suited for trade studies, interference assessments, and performance prediction.
