elena BROWER

Elena Brower is a mother, artist, bestselling author, podcast host, volunteer, and lifelong student. An international teacher of yoga and meditation, she has contributed to the evolution of modern contemplative practice for nearly three decades.

She is the author of five books, including her latest, Hold Nothing (Shambhala Publications, 2025), and widely translated Art of Attention (2012). Her bestselling guided journals, Practice You (2017) and Being You (2021), along with her poetry collection Softening Time (2023), examine studentship, practice, parenting, and the discipline of listening.

Since 2008, she has offered online yoga and meditation as a teacher on Glo. She hosts the podcast Practice You, now in its eighth season, featuring twice-monthly conversations on presence and care.

In 2023, Elena received Jukai (lay Buddhist vows) from Roshi Joan Jiko Halifax at Upaya Zen Center and completed Upaya’s Chaplaincy Training Program in early 2026. A Soto Zen practitioner, she continues her studies with Monshin Nannette Overley and serves in hospice and penitentiary settings.

Through her Substack, Hold Nothing, she writes at the intersection of practice and daily life, supporting organizations serving girls and women, including On The Inside and Girls on Fire Leaders.
