Dr. Sara Szal and Elena Brower invite you to your virtual portal for our monthly
gathering, honoring the transitions we all experience, plain and true. Investigate the subtlest invitations to your intuition, strength, steadiness and softness.
Together WE'LL BRIDGE BETWEEN SCIENCE-BASED WOMEN'S HEALTH and LIVING A LIFE OF SPIRIT.
Acclaimed physician and New York Times bestselling author Dr. Sara Szal (formerly Gottfried), and bestselling author, artist, teacher, and mentor Elena Brower offer this portal for your self-discovery, reconnection and calibration.
Guest teacher Michelle Martello brings expertise relevant for our virtual lives, whether we work virtually or are a householder in our virtually-oriented world.
In monthly 90-minute Live Sessions with us, you’ll welcome the details of aging with elegance and fortitude, physically, energetically and emotionally.
Explore how your hormones initiate you into deeper states of being, reorienting yourself to practices and ways of seeing to bring joy and clarity to your days.
From menstrual intelligence to bio-identical hormone therapy, from sustainable longevity practices to writing prompts, you’ll be supported by community in addressing the issues that have been overarchingly avoided, rewriting the stories and becoming vibrant women with data-driven intelligence in radiant health.
Each month will address topics from three angles:
Body, Heartmind, and Logistics.
BODY
Dr. Sara will lead us with her broad scope of heart, science, care, and intuitive wisdom. Elena may occasionally offer practice to embody and echo Sara’s teachings.
HEARTMIND
Elena Brower will facilitate practices to regulate your system; precisely what Sara sought when she found Elena's teaching a decade ago to ease her own hormonal transition.
LOGISTICS
Michelle Martello, Elena’s longtime behind-the-scenes digital collaborator, will offer invaluable intervals of work-related wisdom for those in the virtual space.
Each quarter of the year, we’ll cycle through Dr. Sara’s three key approaches to women’s health: Basecamp, Climb the Mountain, and Refine, Revisit, Reiterate.
BASECAMP
Basecamp consists of the small, repeatable practices that land you in your baseline health; these are the basics of dialing in your hormones, strength, sleep and self-care. Unsexy equals unstoppable: Basecamp is where your biology stops arguing with your life.
CLIMB THE MOUNTAIN
Climb the Mountain is the hike up to the heights of your health; learn about prescription therapies you might choose to layer onto lifestyle basics. From the intelligence of HRT and testosterone therapy, to peptides, biologics/stem cells, GLP-1s and other metabolic/blood sugar supports like CGM usage, metformin and other possible treatments, data will be respected and you’ll learn how to choose for yourself.
Refine, Revisit, Reiterate
is where you locate your intuitive wisdom, initiating n-of-1 experiments and iteration as well as practices. In these Sessions, you’ll learn to lead yourself, in order to adjust practices, dosages, timings and more, coming to deeply trust your body and evolving your heart-mind.
The educational aspects of their in-person retreat were phenomenal — the research, the graphs, the careful attention to every question — and Elena's energy was ethereal.
"Together they created something I can only describe as a potent balm: an intimate setting where women could gather with intention and real trust.
My most lasting takeaways have been the Basecamp morning practice, which I still do and cherish, and nonviolent communication, which I use daily in my personal and professional life. The emphasis on feminine energy, sensuality, and emotional sobriety was genuinely transformative. I released a lot at this retreat — and left more in touch with what I feel and how I express it.
These two complement each other beautifully. I would recommend their work without hesitation."

I came in knowing nothing about my hormones or how they connected to my nervous system. I left knowing that my body already holds the answers.
"I just needed to learn how to listen. Now I move through my days with a constant awareness of what serves me and what doesn't. That shift alone has been profound.
Arriving to retreat alone and a little nervous, I left with connections I didn't expect and insights I didn't know I needed. What strikes me most is the delicate balance of it all. I used to think progress required an all-or-nothing approach. What I've learned is that real progress happens quietly, through small consistent changes: weekly yoga, less social media, better sleep.
Dr. Sara and Elena's synergy is inspiring. Their friendship, their mutual love and grace, was woven into every moment of the retreat — and it modeled exactly what they were teaching us to give ourselves."
—Christy
I could have listened to Dr. Sara talk for a gazillion more hours. Every word landed. And moving through Elena's yoga practice — grounding the body while the mind was absorbing so much — made the whole experience feel integrated in a way that a lecture alone never could.
"What the two of them built together in that short time was a genuinely open, caring space. Women showed up and trusted each other almost immediately. That doesn't happen by accident.
The piece that hit hardest for me was understanding the stress response — what's actually happening in the body during the menopause transition, and having real practices to work with it, not just information about it. That distinction matters.
These are women who walk their talk. Watching them together — their sister-bromance, their obvious love for each other and for this work — is its own kind of teaching. I left more committed to my own health and deeper in my study of women's wellness."
—Satara
Women: The Portal is a steady, supportive landing for women over the age of 35; a place in which to learn, listen, inquire, grow and exist in safety.
Driving our daily lives, what we care about, where our attention goes, and how we feel, our hormones need our caring attention. When fluctuations begin around 35-40 in perimenopause, sometimes sooner, you’ll feel as though you're entering a new realm about which nobody's taught or oriented you. Because you are. Perimenopause and Menopause are worlds of mystery and magnificence. Women: The Portal will introduce you to what it all means and invite you to see yourself, your ancestors, and all women, in a more educated and more forgiving light.
Our sessions and practices together are opportunities to explore information, education, and embodiment typically missing from our lives and conversations. As we shift from reproductive agents to wisdom keepers, this material becomes less common, and more valuable.
