“And I can’t speak to the state of the world, either, given that Release the Minotaur of Nukes would be a plausible aftereffect.”
Minotaur
There was a discussion of the problems of clothing made entirely of plastics. They don’t breathe, they get infused with perspiration and they never quite get fully cleansed of that. I made the mistake of mentioning the 1970’s and the ridiculous thing that was the leisure suit. For what it’s worth, I never wore, nor owned one. But someone had to feed Midjourney the prompt “Minotaur in a leisure suit” and this happened:
Or at least I assume that was the intent, since a Christmas card was included in the package. It was (is) the modern version of a mixtape – a USB memory “stick” with music files. As i write (Friday morning) I have yet to listen to any of it. But the packaging is noteworthy. $SISTAUR found the PERFECT little box for the USB stick:

No, not about a bigger axe, or carrying other weapon(s). Not as such, anyway. This is about the cocktail. For reference, the “Classic” Minotaur as first made:
1 part lime juice
2 parts ouzo (Ouzo Plomari)
0.5 part Fernet Branca
Shaken with ice, strained into glass.
Nathan suggested adding a bit of sweet to it and then confirmed that working (in comments):
“[Y]up. Add a 1/4 oz rock candy simple or 1/2 oz of 1:1.
I made a Minotaur cocktail with the addition of the recommended 1/2 oz of 1:1 demerara gomme syrup. The result was, to me, a VERY easy-drinking drink. It would be all to easy to knock a few back and wind up utterly blotto before you know it. The lime juice is harmless, as is the syrup. The Fernet is a minor player as intoxication goes. The two ounces of ouzo can pack a wallop. Well, two ounces isn’t all that bad, but if it becomes four, or six, or eight, or… are you insane? See, dangerous.
NON-human is NOT the same as INhuman.
Despite what what some very mistaken folks might claim.
Just a little reminder from a “monster.” But not THAT kind of monster.
Have yourself a dandy day!
The Minotaur cocktail is a potent and delightful (to some…$HOUSEMATE maintains it is unfit for consumption, what with the ouzo and Fernet) thing in its original state. The recent purchase of items not found in $HOOTERVILLE included not just the regular sort of Fernet Branca, but Tattersall’s take on a Fernet. I find it a bit spicy. Not offensively so or terribly strong, but decidedly noticeable. Until the aftertaste, I was wondering if it even really qualified as a Fernet at all. The Fernet bitterness does eventually assert itself, though it’s not as intense as Branca.
Thus, I got curious. How would it work in the Minotaur cocktail? The answer, in my opinion, is “Quite well.” It is very definitely still a Minotaur and no doubt about it. But there is a slight, spicy note in the mix. The spiciness is neither offensive nor unwelcome. One might even consider this a reasonable choice for a Winter Minotaur. Hrmm, I wonder if a dusting of fresh ground nutmeg would go well on it? Further research is called for.
Sarah Hoyt found this fellow on her last trip to Portugal, and passed him along to me at LibertyCon.
It’s an interesting world. This figure of a Greek character, is now in the USA, having been brought back from Portugal, after being imported by a French company (the packaging revealed) from a manufacturer in, of course, China.
