Corpus Christi Independant School District

Objectives

The objective of DCMC Partners’ engagement with Corpus Christi Independent School District (CCISD) is to assist the district with hazard mitigation tasks, particularly related to Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) projects under Hurricane Harvey (DR-4432) and the Covid-19 Pandemic (DR-4485), ensuring compliance with federal funding opportunities.

Solutions

Development of Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (HM Plan):

  • DCMC was commissioned to develop a comprehensive local HM Plan tailored to CCISD, including identification of mitigation goals and strategies, hazard identification, risk and vulnerability assessments, asset inventory, and identification of HM Plan maintenance and monitoring activities.
  • Ensured each step of HM Plan development was in accordance with federal requirements, guiding CCISD through required plan development activities such as Planning Committee Member input sessions and public comment periods.
  • CCISD’s HM Plan was approved by FEMA on June 21, 2021, ensuring compliance and eligibility of HMGP projects.

Grant Management of HMGP-Funded Wind Retrofit Project:

  • Tasked with grant management of CCISD’s $25,000,000 HMGP-funded multi-facility wind retrofit project.
  • Provided support including development and drafting of scope and budget amendments, quarterly reporting, deliverable package preparation, project management, administrative support for all phases of the project, and assistance with ensuring procurements are compliant with all state, local, and federal requirements.
