Welcome to Monday’s Music Moves Me! I threw out two music prompts to inspire ya. I hope it helped. I’m going to be the odd one and if you’re on the same page as me, then we’ll just stick out like two sore thumbs together.
In today’s line up, I’m sharing with you the 1970 album, Friendly Strangers by The Ides of March.
At first, I thought this was a new discovery until I got to track three. I recognized it immediately, but I’m not sure if it’s this version or another I remember.
Now what about the calendar event known as “Ides of March”, what’s that all about? I looked this up before but forgot. It’s basically marks the mid-point of the month and is historically marked by the turning point for the Roman empire with the assassination of Julius Caesar. What contrasting figures we recognize this month, Caesar, a dictator – self serving, and St Patrick, a man of God – serving others.
Everyone has time restraints. Please if you can, when you add your link to make an honest effort to visit, comment, or click ‘like” to let your bloggy friend know you stopped by. For some a small gesture means a lot.
At the moment, I do not have a “like” button. Feel free to drop an emoji in comments, no words needed so I’ll know to do a return visit.
Are you ready? It’s now your turn to share what music moves you!

This is a rework of my 2020 Irish Lass vintage pinup girl I drew for the A2Z Challenge. I really like the changes and improvements.

I apologize for the added fluff, but I couldn’t resist trying it in Brushstrokes.

Before I go I wanted to share with you something DH shared with me last year, an image of a giant Celtic cross in the Donegal Forest in Ireland. You can read more about this interesting landscape at IrishCentral.
I’ll wind things down with another playlist by Ides of March. Enjoy and have a boogietastic week!
☘️💚
Love the Irish blessing. It’s perfect.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Love and hugs, Cathy. ♥
Very nice post. I to love the Irish blessing. Have a lovely Monday.
Wow! I haven’t thought of the Ides of March in years, and “Vehicle” is an old favourite. Thanks for the playlists. That was their only hit, and I didn’t know any of the other songs, but I sampled them all. Enjoyed #24, “Freedom Sweet”, especially. From the second playlist, my favourite (besides “Vehicle”) is #2, “Blue Storm Rising”.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you! Love the sketches, especially the first one. 🍀
We thought we didn’t know the Ides of March, until we heard the third song, just like you, CK😸We also didn’t know any other song🙈The Irish saying and your drawings are beautiful, that sure is an Irish lass🍀What a great song, of The Ides of March. Double Pawkisses for a Happy Monday especially for you CK🐾😙💞
Cool, that’s a group I actually remember LOL! Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
That is one I haven’t heard before. Have a nice St. Patrick’s Day. Good job on the sketch. XO
A cover of Eleanor Rigby by Ides of March is a song I had forgotten and it was great listening to it on the album you featured. In some ways, Ides of March remind me of Blood, Sweat and Tears but they never got the traction that BS&T did. And you may laugh but I keep thinking your Sunday posts are your music posts then, by Friday, I remember that I never visited your Monday post. This has happened for weeks now. So here I am, finally. Sigh….
Don’t worry about it, Alana! I decided this week to not even link up and I may continue not adding mine. I figured, when I visit others who join that’ll be their signal to pop over, if they want. 😉 Have a good weekend, darlin’!
