Getting started with device management begins by assessing your current device inventory and developing a plan to manage and maintain those devices.

This may involve selecting software tools or other resources to support the process, as well as assigning tasks and responsibilities to specific staff members or departments.

Device management specifically refers to the management and maintenance of hardware and software devices. In contrast, asset management can encompass a wider range of assets, including physical assets such as buildings and equipment, as well as financial assets such as investments and cash.

Many mobile device management solutions do not include remediation; however, MDMs like Addigy do, which is key to maximum device security.

It is possible to uninstall or remove MDM software from a phone, but the process depends on the specific software. Typically, you can do this by going to the phone’s settings and finding the MDM software under applications. From there, you should be able to uninstall it as you would any other app.
