During the month of December, I will be auctioning off various personal possessions in order to help raise money to afford Christmas presents for my loving wife Laura, and our three kids; this will include books, tapes, plush toys, and whatever else I have that I think might possibly sell. If you would like to help or just want a few inexpensive things to add to your Christmas gift supply, please check out my auctions over the next three weeks - I will continue adding things during this time, so keep checking back if there's nothing there you want right now.
Those who read this journal entry will be pleased to know that anyone who contacts me on eBay using the holiday catchphrase "Happy anniversary, Aus and L" -- our wedding anniversary is on New Year's Eve -- will receive $1 off of the total shipping costs for their winning auction(s); I'm making four codephrases, which can be used together to get a total discount of up to $4 on shipping.
All auctions will begin at one penny, and all proceeds will be put towards my family's Christmas presents. If you would like to contribute, but aren't interested in any of the auctions or just want to donate directly, you can use the following button to do so.
Thank you for your consideration, and Merry Christmas.
STEP ONE - Make a post (public, friends locked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love an icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want. - If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you. - Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post so that the holiday joy will spread.
STEP TWO -Surf around your friends list (or friends friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part: - If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream pure-bred Basset Hound for free--do it. Once a wish has been granted, it will be crossed off my list (Unless it's like, Christmas cards. The more the merrier).
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out (or in debt), it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
5. If you're a friend who lives in the area (or if you're going to be in the area), let's do lunch or hang out and have some kind of fun!

9. Good books /music / movies
10. A membership to Weight Watchers so I can have help losing some of the weight I really need to lose.

Finally finished huge character surveys in p1dreamer and lastbastian 's journals in preparation for NaNo. If you haven't already, you might want to friend them and/or the community tequila_sunset if you want to read along with my NaNo project.
The summary can be found in the community.
In the characters journals, I'll be posting any character development exercises and such in first person. The novel itself is a third person, however. After michael_malone's short story series, I think I burned myself out on first person. Editing them is such a pain! Still not done that. Likely will have to finish after November.
Oh, if you haven't already, check out the three tons of GURPS books we're auctioning this week.
This time around, it's mostly RPG books! As usual, all of my auctions start at one penny, and shipping discounts are available for winning multiple auctions; check out what I've got below, or click here to see all of my current auctions!
Wow, good day for the mail today - paycheck and packages and all kinds of goodies.
I'm still trying to kick the germtastic ass of this virus that the kids brought home from school and shared. Blah!
I have decided to do NaNoWriMo this year. Yeah, I'm usually against the whole quanity over quality thing but I want to try and learn how to write things at a faster rate than I have been. And it's a good way to get started on the new short story series. What I want to do is finish editing the Michael-stories and have them all together by November so I can focus on the new story. Hopefully that all works out.
Jeanette is going to be in a variety show at school- I have to take her to practice tonight. Brenda can't be in it though-- she's got her babysitting job. Steve is going to try out for Cross Country and he's joining the chess club when that starts up. It's nice that they've all got some activities. I'm also going to take them to a family thing on Tuesday - it's like a seven week program with dinner and activities for teens. We're going to try it out this week and see if they like it and if so we'll keep going.
Wednesday I think I want to try taking the train into Philly. The concerts that I want to get to being all in Philly, and me having no friends around here anymore - I have to either have to learn to drive there or take the train. The Jenny concert is coming up on the tenth and I want to try to make it to that. Of course, that's also the same day I have my court thing for the accident (wish me luck! I really hope it gets settled this time) - so I don't know if I'll feel up to going later that night. The court thing is also involving some scary driving - into Camden, to the courthouse there. I got my brother Joe to take me last time, but this time I have to drive myself because he's got therapy for his arm and can't take me. So I'm nervous about that too. But I can't just not go anywhere because I don't have any friends or family to rely on - I've got to start straightening out my own driving fears and figure out how to do it on my own.
Ps: If you get a chance, check our auctions for this week- some of them are still really low and there's only one day or so left. Video games, books (Lord of the Rings and Dragonlance and RA Salvatore stuff and Dr. Phil), Korean War army spoons, cute plushie, shadowbox... etc. etc.
From the hubby, wizardofaus : I've got more things up on auction, from lots of up to seven books, to packs of up to 47 video games, to unusual Korean war artifacts -- all of this and more, starting at just a penny! Click here to see everything I've got up this time, or check out the list...

In our ever ongoing quest to pay our medical bills and living expenses, Aus and I are going to be selling some of our Buffy and gaming collection - so take a look at our half-dot-com store here and see if there's anything that interests you: http://shops.half.ebay.com/somenameaus_W0QQmZbooks We'll be adding more stuff to this on a fairly regular basis, so if you don't see anything you like now, check back.
Holy fuckmonkeys, our ebay auction (Deities and Demigods) sold for 79 bucks! Woo! Two people were going neck and neck at the end, it was great!
Had a good time yesterday hanging out with themightydrew and Christine. They're playing Neopets ... which has gotten us started playing again, hehe.
Today is nothing but relaxing- the power went out earlier for a while, but other than that, things have been cool. So far, nothing planned this week but doctors appointments and the usual D&D and poetry stuff.
I'm so sorry this happened to you! That's fucked up. Seeing pictures of you I've never read you as masculine, but even if I had as you said you could've been a trans woman. This woman is completely…
And once again, I see so clearly, we had the same childhood. I never knew what would set my mom off & end in her beating tge shit out of me. Of course she remembers being Mrs. Cunningham. So…
