Washington Post Lays Off Dozens, Cuts Will Be Deep as Liberal Media Falters

It couldn’t happen to a better paper. The chickens are coming home to roost. Alternative news sources are the route people are taking, and the old war horses of Progressive nonsense is coming to an end. Will Lewis, the publisher of The Post, said in a meeting last year that in 2023, The Post lost $77 million and had suffered a falloff in its digital audience since 2020. The Post has been in turmoil for much of Mr. Lewis’s tenure, which began a year ago.

Apparently those who work there think the paper works for them. It was reported Ann Telnaes, the newspaper’s Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist, stepped down last week after the opinions section rejected a cartoon depicting Jeff Bezos, the Amazon founder and owner of The Post, genuflecting toward a statue of President-elect Donald J. Trump.

The coming layoffs follows over 200 laid off last year.

Breitbart News reports:

The Washington Post will reportedly lay off dozens of its staffers in the next few days, the news coming after the publication caught flak for not endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris (D) during the presidential election that Donald Trump won in November.

In his article published on Status, Oliver Darcy wrote Sunday that “the layoffs are slated to hit the Jeff Bezos-owned and Will Lewis-led newspaper’s business division, I’m told. One person familiar with the matter said that the cuts will be deep, impacting many dozens of employees.”

Bezos has reportedly been shaking up the Post after it decided not to endorse Harris, according to Breitbart News.

Darcy continued:

The layoffs will surely deplete morale further inside the beleaguered newspaper, which has suffered a talent exodus over the last several weeks. As I reported earlier, star reporter Josh Dawsey will exit The Post for a job at The Wall Street Journal. His departure comes on the heels of other top staffers fleeing, including Matea Gold, Ashely Parker, Michael Scherer, Charles Lane, Tyler Pager, and Amanda Katz.

FOX News is reporting that the WaPo has even had to cut their ‘gender columnist’ if you can believe they had such a thing.

Washington Post reporter attends top secret Soros meeting to advance agenda

Allegedly unbiased Washington Post reporter Janell Ross spoke at a top-secret meeting of liberal movers and shakers last week, where Democratic donors including billionaire George Soros outlined the future of their progressive agenda.

A Post spokesperson told the Washington Free Beacon that Ross took part of the California event “without notifying her superiors that she would be attending.”

The Democracy Alliance, which hosted the event, bills itself as “the largest network of donors dedicated to building the progressive movement in the United States” on the group’s official website. The liberal group also claims to “play a leading role in fostering the infrastructure necessary to advance a progressive agenda” in the United States.

More of the swamp.

Jen Rubin: GOP Should Be ‘Burned Down’ with No ‘Survivors

The heat rose on the Sunday talkies against the GOP to a new flame thrower level. Literally. This no less from the Washington Post’s Jennifer Rubin. If we thought the Old Gray Lady was moribund, the Post is on a mission to out do her in her death cry.

On Sunday’s AM Joy on MSNBC, Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin renewed a previous attack on former Donald Trump administration members as she declared that they should be “shunned” for the rest of the lives, and that the Republican Party should figuratively be “burned down” so that there are no “survivors,” punishing Trump’s “enablers.”

Rubin then repeated her call for “shunning” and “shaming” Trump administration members and complained that the University of Virginia had employed a former Trump staffer for a while. The disgruntled ex-Republican then aimed further vitriol at her former party:

It’s not only that Trump has to lose, but that all his enablers have to lose — we have to collectively, in essence, burn down the Republican party. We have to level them because if there are survivors — if there are people who weather this storm, they will do it again — will take this as confirmation that, “Hey, it just pays to ride the wave — look at me, I’ve made it through.”

This has become a dysfunctional anti-government party. That is not what the country wants and what it needs. And the proof is in the pudding. The reason they engage in voter suppression is because their underlying agenda is very unpopular. No one’s in favor, it turns out, of taking away people’s health care. People don’t like it when you come after Medicaid and Medicare.

We conservative Gopers disregard what is happening at our peril. What is becoming clear is that we will have an opening on the Supreme court very soon. Not that in the end it will effect our cause to the better to have an addition of a GOP selection. No need to beat that horse.

But this will totally have the Democrats frothing at the mouth. Was it a coincidence that we had the movie “The Hunt” – where elites hunt down deplorables – scheduled to come out this fall?

As if that wasn’t enough, Newsweek decided what was best to do with us after the hunt.

The Hunt –  and it will make it to a theatre near you before the election.

A tip of the hat to Newsbusters wander over to hear and view a version of the rant by Rubin with just the “high points.”

Other than that, all is well in the swamp. For the best in conservative news click below

Washington Post reporter attends top secret Soros meeting to advance agenda

Thanks to everyone for the Thanksgiving well wishes..back from a lovely holiday with friends and family. Let us not rest, but keep the torch of liberty aflame. Snuff out the liberal media’s lies and deceit. How about this one for a start? :

The group intended to keep “the identities of its members and guests confidential,” according to the Beacon, but the paper obtained a “detailed conference agenda that lists both events and featured guests.” Once the Beacon revealed the attendees, the group reportedly beefed up security and asked participants to keep details off social media.

Does Bernie Sanders steal his neighbor’s Washington Post?

So it looks like our Commie Bernie  has long fingers. He got kicked out of a commune for being lazy. I guess our multi-home Sanders can’t afford the paper:

Sticky-fingered socialist Bernie Sanders is apparently stealing his neighbor’s Washington Post subscription, as any good socialist might do.

In perhaps the funniest and most fitting news of the year, WMAL radio host Chris Plante told his audience of a story he’s heard about the elderly senator from friends. A man living next to Sanders apparently called the Post to complain that he was hardly ever receiving his subscription. After an investigation into the matter took place, it was realized by the paying customer that it was his neighbor, Senator Sanders, who was stealing the paper right from under his nose. Daily Wire

Here’s Plante’s story via Red State:

Bernie Sanders and his wife Jane when they are in Washington DC, live in this house on Capitol Hill, ok? Part of their vast real estate empire. They’re like wannabe Trumps with their real estate holdings.

The next-door neighbor…their neighbor on Capitol Hill called the Washington Post and told the Washington Post that they were cancelling their Washington Post subscription because their very expensive Sunday Post stopped showing up. Not there this week, last week, the week before, then it was there one week but the week before it wasn’t delivered, so I’m cancelling my subscription to the post because your delivery person never gets to me. I’m paying for it but it never gets to me. Keep reading…

Obamacare Slush Fund gives to Washington Post and CBS

The Daily Caller caught this action. This is really rank. Worth the full read if you have had a good night’s sleep which is more than I can say. Where is the coverage of these hearings? How is the Washington Post and CBS  to cover Obama in this when they are receiving the ultimate welfare. They rale about the GOP and Big Business. What a joke.  Here tis:

Two mainstream news organizations are receiving hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars from Obamacare’s Early Retiree Reinsurance Program (ERRP) — a $5 billion grant program that’s doling out cash to companies, states and labor unions in what the Obama administration considers an effort to pay for health insurance for early retirees. The Washington Post Company raked in $573,217 in taxpayer subsidies and CBS Corporation secured $722,388 worth of Americans’ money.

At a Friday morning hearing, the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, chaired by Rep. Cliff Stearns, Florida Republican, asked Center for Consumer Information & Insurance Oversight (CCIO) official Steven Larsen for how the administration decides who gets a slice of the $5 billion pie – and how the application process works. In his response, Stearns referred to the fact that corporations like General Electric, Verizon and AT&T in addition to several labor unions were getting taxpayer funding.
