Canada and France? Governments Griped as Well in Chaos

If we thought the USA and its government was the only country that was under duress, think again. Canadians have about had it or at least making noises about their freedoms, and France is not far behind with their confusion. Here first with Canada.

Embattled Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau came under even more pressure to resign on Tuesday after his Liberal Party lost a “safe seat” in Montreal to the Bloc Quebecois.

Current polling suggests Pierre Poilievre and his Conservative Party would obliterate the Liberal Party if the election were held today. The Liberals fear a vote of no confidence could knock Trudeau out of office long before the next scheduled election in October 2025.

Lametti said he was “surprise[d]” to get booted from Trudeau’s cabinet. In January 2024, Lametti announced he would resign his Montreal parliamentary seat “with some sadness,” in part because was still hurt from losing his position as justice minister, and his confidence had been shaken.

The Montreal district of LaSalle-Emard-Verdun was considered one of the safest Liberal seats in the land, handing Trudeau’s party a hefty 20-point victory as recently as 2021. When the last ballots were counted on Tuesday, however, the Liberals lost a tight three-way race to the Block Quebecois.

Montreal delivered the second cataclysmic loss to the Liberals in three months after the astounding victory by Conservative Don Stewart in Toronto. Stewart took a seat that the Liberals held for three decades, prompting a great deal of anxiety that Trudeau had become an albatross for his party.

France is having its problems too.

Macron decided to have “snap elections” in June and it all went bad after that.

Impeachment proceedings against France’s Macron pass first hurdle
The bureau of France’s National Assembly has validated an impeachment procedure brought by hard-left MPs against President Emmanuel Macron.

NFP won the most votes in snap parliamentary elections in July, though it failed to secure an outright majority.

LFI has accused Macron of carrying out an “anti-democratic coup” after he ruled out choosing its pick for prime minister, naming veteran conservative politician Michel Barnier instead.

petition, signed by more than 300,000 people, refers to Macron’s “unprecedented authoritarian drift … in the system of representative democracy”.

And that is what is going on in other’s governments swamp.

Trudeau Threatens Grocery Stores With Tax Unless they Stabilize Food Prices

How are our neighbors to our North faring? Not much better and perhaps worse than the U.S. Trudeau throws up a “hail Mary” going after large grocery stores and telling them its time for them to pony up and solve his problem with food costs. Since it may be not enough to save his precarious sinking political fortunes, he throws in the oft quoted “affordable housing” and has additional offerings in that department to sure up is sagging poll numbers.

It’s classic communism Price controls for businesses Then state seizure when the business fails The state then owns the business.

The old price controls… sound familiar? The grocery stores argue that they are not making record profits.

Here is an idea what could be causing some of Canada’s problem. Add the high energy costs as Canada too moves to the Green economy and this is what you get,

Sylvain Charlebois, director of Agri-Food Analytics Lab at Dalhousie University, joins BNN Bloomberg to discuss PM Trudeau announcing he will be asking grocery companies to come up with a plan by Thanksgiving to stabilize food prices in Canada.

Take heart fellow citizens….

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has rejected the notion of stepping down amid plummeting poll numbers when asked whether he would resign as the Liberal leader during a news conference on Wednesday afternoon. Speaking in English and French to reporters in London, Ont., to address housing affordability, Trudeau said he had “more work to do” as head of the Liberal party.

OTTAWA, Sept 13 (Reuters) – Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Wednesday brushed aside the idea he might quit due to poor polling numbers, saying he still had plenty of work to do, but acknowledged public grumbling about the cost of living.

Polls show that after nine years in power, the left-leaning Liberals are badly trailing the official opposition Conservatives and would lose power if an election were held now.

Although Trudeau has a deal with the smaller left-of-center New Democrats that will allow them to govern until October 2025, the agreement is non-binding, and could collapse earlier.

Canada Moves to Reduce Fertilizer Use by 30 Percent

Why not repeat what has already happened in the Netherlands. Better yet, look what happened to Ghana and Sri Lanka not using fertilizer.

They used to export food. Now the people are starving.

Oh yeah, it worked great in Sri Lanka.

The Trudeau government is on a push to get farmers to drop fertilizer use by 30% even as farmers, provinces and industry groups say it will lead to less food produced and higher prices for families at the grocery store. You think? Of Course a bureaucrat makes this decision. All by 2030.

There she goes-

All is well in the swamp.

Canada’s Reign of Terror Coming to the USA?

Most of us watched in horror these past weeks as Canada’s Justin Trudeau morphed before our eyes into a fascist dictator or as he prefers the second China’s Xi Jinping. His role model according to him.

We have gone from “Wash your hands” to freezing your bank account in just 2 years. It’s been quite a journey to keep us all safe.

More concerning we see the shades of what’s to be here in the United States with the DOJ and FBI being used against regular citizens attending school board meetings as a start.

Now the headline from Reason should send a chill

DOJ, FBI Will Investigate Companies for ‘Illicit Profits’

Elizabeth Warren’s bizarre theories about corporate greed driving inflation have made their way into federal law enforcement, it seems.

The Department of Justice announced Thursday that it will begin investigating companies for earning what it believes to be excessive profits amid surging inflation and ongoing supply chain issues.

Department of Justice Announces Initiative to Protect Americans from Collusive Schemes Amid Supply Chain Disruptions

In a press release:

the department said its antitrust division would begin to “deter, detect and prosecute those who would exploit supply chain disruptions” to earn what the department calls “illicit profit.” .. is to prevent companies from “overcharging customers under the guise of supply chain disruptions.”

But this announcement from the DOJ is more than just a fishing expedition. It suggests that the mighty law enforcement apparatuses of the federal government are following Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D–Mass.) and Bernie Sanders (I–Vt.) into the fantasy world where the profit motive is responsible for inflation. That cockamamie conspiracy theory becomes less funny when the FBI is empowered to charge companies for “illicit profits” as they try to keep shelves stocked in an environment of scarcity.

Warren has been trying to blame corporations for inflation since last year. She’s lobbed attacks at big oil companies and small grocery stores—a famously low-margin business—for trying to take advantage of supply chain issues to screw customers. As if businesses suddenly became more greedy within the past year after previously not caring about profits, I guess?

This week, Sanders climbed into the clown car too, tweeting that “Gas prices are at the highest level in 7 years” due to “corporate greed, collusion & profiteering.”

Biden and the Left must be salivating:

Of course it was corporate greed Senator Sanders.

According to a new analysis published earlier this month by the Joint Economic Committee Republicans, the Biden administration is exacerbating soaring energy prices by cracking down on the oil and gas industry with new regulations that limit production and discourage investments in traditional energy infrastructure.

In the early days of the pandemic, the U.S., like other oil-producing countries, shut down production and canceled new investments in expanded capacity, leading to the lowest level of oil and gas wells in the U.S. on record in the summer of 2020. But while demand has rebounded since then, production capacity remains about 13% below pre-pandemic levels, the JEC report shows.

Liz Warren? She has her spin. Yet she enjoys the good life.

All of this comes after she made her millions flipping houses.

Fauxcahontas Warren flipped houses, was a GOPer, became a multimillionaire first

In her 2006 book All Your Worth, co-authored with her daughter, Amelia, Warren lists as a top myth the idea that “you can make big money buying houses and flipping them quickly.” She has made a career out of telling people how to behave in financially responsible ways, and out of creating laws that will make it illegal for them to do otherwise.

…..The home’s new owner: Elizabeth Warren, today a Massachusetts senator who has built a political career on denouncing the sort of banking titans and financial sophisticates who make a buck off the little guy. Five months after purchasing Veo Vessels’ old home, Warren flipped the property, selling it for $115,000 more than she’d paid, according to Oklahoma County Property Assessor records.

That means we’ve got to be willing to do things, for example, like regulation. By 2028, no new buildings, no new houses, without a zero carbon footprint.”

And she’s coming for your car and electricity bill, too.

“By 2030, trucks — light-duty trucks and cars, zero carbon footprint. By 2035, all production of electricity, zero carbon footprint,” Warren said.

Oh, and there was also talk of some vague idea of social justice — because schemes like this always need to be undergirded with some such vague idea-

“We also need to make environmental justice really at the heart of our climate plan,” Warren said.

Think it cannot happen here? It already has.

Inflation? This is how it is done.

Biden Vs. Truckers

by Mustang

On 18th December 1972, Neilia Hunter-Biden pulled out of an intersection in front of a tractor-trailer driven by Curtis Dunn, traveling north on Route 7.  The broadside collision killed Neilia and her infant daughter and inflicted severe injuries on her other two children, “Hunter” and “Beau.”  It was one of those horrific American tragedies where an inattentive driver pulls out in front of another vehicle and is killed.

Mr. Dunn did nothing to cause the accident, nor was there anything he could do to avoid it.  He was not impaired while driving his rig, which was traveling at or below the posted speed limit.  Police never charged Mr. Dunn for any moving violation.

The fact that Curtis Dunn was not at fault in the accident didn’t stop Joe Biden from publicly claiming that at the time of the accident, Mr. Dunn was driving under the influence of alcohol.  It wasn’t true, of course.  Worse, though, knowing that the claim was false made Joe Biden’s assertion more than merely incorrect — it proved that Joe Biden is a liar.

But lying is what Joe Biden does for a living, and he does it with such frequency that people begin to suspect Joe of being a pathological liar.  He lies all the time … but in this case, his lie is malicious and, therefore, unforgivable.  One may certainly understand Biden’s anger at the death of his wife, even when it was her fault.  What Joe did was direct his angst at an innocent man, Curtis Dunn — and there it remains even now, long after Mr. Dunn has passed away.

Even though this tragedy happened 49 years ago, Joe Biden has never hesitated to use the incident to gain sympathy points during an election year.  That’s the kind of person Joe Biden is.  Very low class.  So then, why is this even relevant today?  It’s relevant because Biden himself continues to state that a drunk driver killed his wife.

Again, it is a malicious lie … and it is malevolent because Dunn’s family has had to endure the widespread rumors and reports propagated by Joe Biden that Curtis Dunn was drinking before the collision that Nelia Biden caused.  Biden has made this claim on more than a few occasions.  CBS News reported Biden’s lie in 2007 — and, to my knowledge, has never retracted it.

Curtis Dunn’s daughter, Pamela Hamill, has stated that her father suffered from the accident; it tormented him for years — this is the reaction to a tragedy that we might expect from a decent human being.  He didn’t cause it; he couldn’t avoid it, but he felt terrible about it for the balance of his life.  Mr. Dunn died in 1999, but that hasn’t stopped his family’s suffering, particularly since Joe Biden keeps repeating his hateful lie.  Pam Hamill argues that her father had not been drinking.

The police reports “have been lost,” but a Delaware Judge named Jerome Herlihy investigated the crash, and he states that Hamill’s claim is true: there was never any evidence or suspicion that Curtis Dunn was driving while impaired.  In 2009, a Biden spokesman announced that Joe Biden “fully accepts” the Dunn family’s word that “the rumors” were false.

Fast Forward to 2022

Okay … yet Biden keeps the rumor fresh in everyone’s mind — so we cannot claim that this is all water under the bridge.  Biden’s somewhat bizarre involvement with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the Canadian “freedom convoy” demonstration may keep the incident in the present.  For some underlying reason, Joe Biden has no love for truckers of any nationality.

Big Johs Lunde Truck

Biden urged Trudeau to use his federal powers to suppress the demonstrations.  Trudeau’s heavy hand hasn’t worked so far but bless them … the statists keep trying.  Of more immediate concern to Biden and his fascist cabinet heads, if American truckers get involved, it might interfere with the (gasp) Super Bowl and Biden’s State of the Union Speech … God forbid.

According to USA Today, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has received “reports” of truck drivers planning to potentially block roads in major metropolitan cities in the United States in protest of, among other things, vaccine mandates for truck drivers.  DHS recently put out a bulletin to its “local law enforcement partners.”  Notice the over-use of the words potentially and possibly.

The DHS notification continues, “While there are currently no indications of planned violence if hundreds of trucks converge in a major metropolitan city, the potential exists to severely disrupt transportation, federal government operations, commercial facilities, and emergency services through gridlock and potential counterprotests.”

What makes this an international issue is that Canada has decided to block commerce by refusing admission to Canada any truck driver who cannot prove that they’ve been vaccinated against COVID-19.  The irritation exists equally among Canadian and American truck drivers.

Last month, the DHS began requiring all non-U.S. individuals seeking to enter the United States at Canadian and Mexican borders to be fully vaccinated for Covid-19 — and provide proof of vaccinations, as well.  [Okay — except for several hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens flooding across the U.S. southern border who are NOT required to have any vaccinations whatsoever.]

I’m also not making this up:  “Citing unspecified law enforcement sources, the DHS memo warned that the protest group intends to start in California, including Los Angeles, where, it said, Super Bowl LVI and accompanying events ‘are expected to draw approximately 70,000 attendees to the game and millions of people to the Los Angeles area’.”  [To clarify, that would be 70,000 attendees and millions of people who may or may not be appropriately inoculated for COVID-19.]

Is any of this making sense to anyone yet?  Me either.  But DHS is worried that those damn Canadian truckers may join up with the American truckers to block off Washington, D.C., and interfere with the U.S. President’s State of the Union speech on1 March 2022.  So far, DHS has not detected any “domestic violent extremists” calling for violence related to the event, and no one (so far) is trying to EXPLOIT their first amendment rights.

Question: how does one exploit their rights?

As expressed to Justin Trudeau, Joe Biden’s concern is that Canadian protests are blocking commerce between the U.S. and Canada.  Didn’t Trudeau do that when he blocked American truckers from entering Canada?  Didn’t Biden do that when DHS blocked Canadian and Mexican truckers from entering the U.S. without vaccinations?

Final Question: Are we living in an alternate universe where only weirdness seems rational?

All Is Not Quiet On The Western Front – North America Rising!

Well it had to start somewhere now didn’t it? Let’s get er done here in the USA! This fellow sums this whole freedom business up in a nutshell. What could get the weekend off better than a little patriotic rhetoric and music?

Canadian schools hold book-burning ceremony for ‘reconciliation’

An Ontario school board held a symbolic book burning to advocate reconciliation and support Indigenous peoples. The board now regrets the move.

Radio Canada first reported the “flame purification” ceremony by the Conseil scolaire catholique Providence who burned some 30 books for “educational purposes.” The board, which oversees elementary and secondary schools in southwestern Ontario, said the books’ ashes were then used as fertilizer to plant a tree.

“We bury the ashes of racism, discrimination and stereotypes in the hope that we will grow up in an inclusive country where all can live in prosperity and security,” according to a video about the book burning. More than 4,700 across 30 schools have since been destroyed or are in the process of being recycled, Radio Canada reported.

Lyne Cossette, the board’s spokesperson, told the National Post that they formed a committee with input from “many Aboriginal knowledge keepers and elders.”

They “participated and were consulted at various stages, from the conceptualization to the evaluation of the books, to the tree planting initiative.”

More than 4,700 books were removed from library shelves at 30 schools, and they have since been destroyed or are in the process of being recycled.

Asked about the book burning, Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau said it’s not up to non-Indigenous people “to tell Indigenous people how they should feel or act to advance reconciliation.”  “On a personal level, I would never agree to the burning of books,” he said. (A small comfort.)

Ebay barring reselling of six Dr. Seuss books

This is not going to end well. Did we ever think we would come to this? Scary stuff. This is only the beginning and it must be stopped now.

Dr. Seuss’ “canceled” books are becoming rarer by the minute.

EBay is barring users from reselling the six Dr. Seuss books that will no longer be printed due to their “racist” imagery — a move that comes after the books started going for hundreds of dollars on the auction site.

“EBay is currently sweeping our marketplace to remove these items,” an eBay spokeswoman told the Wall Street Journal in an email.

The announcement comes after Dr. Seuss Enterprises, which publishes the author’s books for Penguin Random House, said it would no longer print six titles — “And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street,” “If I Ran the Zoo,” “McElligot’s Pool,” “On Beyond Zebra!,” Scrambled Eggs Super!,”

…..

Chizad said he tried to sell a copy of “And to Think I Saw It on Mulberry Street” on eBay only to get an “offensive material” message Thursday.

“We had to remove your listing because it didn’t follow our Offensive material policy,” the message said. “Listings that promote or glorify hatred, violence, or discrimination aren’t allowed.”

Chizad’s selling fees were refunded “as a courtesy,” the message said.

Taking down our statutes, our history, our books and our culture. When is the GOP here going to grow a spine? We have seen this play once before.

A 165-page school board document includes analysis of all the books removed from shelves, Radio Canada reported.

Among them are classic titles, such as Tintin in America, which was withdrawn for its “negative portrayal of indigenous peoples and offending Aboriginal representation in the drawings.”

Also removed were books that allegedly contain cultural appropriation, as well as outdated history books, such as two biographies of Jacques Cartier, a French explorer who mapped the St. Lawrence, and another of explorer Étienne Brûlé.

I’m not sure what kind of cultural appropriation they’re talking about, but perhaps readers can enlighten me.

From Why evolution is true

On May 10, 1933, more than 25,000 volumes of “un-German” books were burned in the square in front of the State Opera in Berlin. Many other German cities and towns followed suit. The Nazi book burnings symbolically marked the censorship, intolerance, and terror of the Nazi regime. We know what then came next…

Other than that all is well in the swamp.

Trudeau thinks he will win a trade war with the U.S.???

So Trudeau says he won’t play because Trump thinks it would be a good idea if we held on to our Steel industry for the sake of National security. We once had 18 steel companies. Now down to two. Everyone dumping steel on the U.S.

Canada who has enjoyed the benefits of our military and spends a teeny tiny amount on defense. Yes, they do send some troops to our various misadventures, often with restrictions.

I couldn’t resist this clip on a Saturday.

….Trudeau said he refused to go because of the “totally unacceptable” precondition. He made the comment while outlining Canada’s response to U.S. tariffs on steel and aluminum imports.

Late today, President Donald Trump responded in a statement released by the White House, “Earlier today, this message was conveyed to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada: The United State (sic) will agree to a fair deal, or there will be no deal at all.”
