Family Farms Vanishing and a Consolidated Beef Industry – All for RFK Jr. to Remedy

Robert Kennedy Jr is well known for his focus on big Pharma. He is equally committed to the family farm in Making America Healthy Again, and those folks are in desperate need of someone to care. 141,000 family farms were lost between 2017 and 2022.

Just before the presidential election, RFK Jr. published a short video on X indicating that when Trump “gets me inside” the United States Department of Agriculture, “we’re going to give farmers an off-ramp from the current system that destroys soil, makes people sick, and harms family farms.”

In an interview with  Nicole Shanahan, Kennedy’s previous running mate, she stated:

This is where I want to make the investments in our country. I want to create an entire – I want to bring back the infrastructure that allowed small and mid-size growers to be able to produce, and process, and package, and distribute locally, because that has all been taken away for the most part – it’s why it’s impossible economically for small growers to make a profit today.”

Earlier in the interview, she noted:

“I’ve been a producer on a few of these regenerative agriculture films, and the biggest pushback we’ve ever gotten [was] from the artificial meat investors.

Zero Hedge:

The Beef Initiative, a non-profit focused on boosting localized food supply, listed four shocking facts about America’s family farms, the health crisis, the beef industry, and big pharma ads:

  • Family Farms Disappearing: Over 141,000 farms lost between 2017 and 2022, with just 1.89 million left in the U.S. today.
  • Health Crisis Rising: Obesity rates hit 42%, and Type 2 diabetes cases quadrupled since 1980.
  • Beef Industry Centralized: 85% of U.S. beef is controlled by just 4 corporations.
  • Big Pharma Spending: $19.6 billion on ads, $102 billion on research—focused on profit, not solutions.

We’ve heard of agency capture – but how about website capture?

  • Beef.org: Owned by NCBA and the Big 4.
  • Health.com: Powered by People Magazine.
  • Science.com: Powered by Bill Gates.
  • Beef.com: Once used by PETA.

Congrats to Kennedy for getting through the quagmire and being sworn as the Director of Health and Human Services. Personally I hope Trump will keep a strong leash on him with a lot of direction. This is a huge department, with much more than farmers and vaccines. Once a Progressive always a Progressive? Though I commend him for taking this on, and who else will unless it’s someone like the kids that Elon has rounded up who, from the outside, are willing to lay waste to the status quo. Let us not end up like Pakistan who in the name of “Green” did away with fertilizer, ending in mass starvation.

Back as recently as 2018 I posted the following story. This as a reminder that the Deep State is always just around the corner. Here is one family’s story.

Family Farm Could Face Prison for Calling Skim Milk by Its Name

An Orwellian dystopia. In what kind of universe does a dairy farmer have to label skim milk from a cow as artificial milk, but if he adds artificial vitamins to it, he can call it natural skim milk? I know, in a leftist dream world. Ridiculous. Of course, this fine family is going to court for the fight of their life:

FDA Approves Bovaer Cow Feed Additive to Reduce Methane Emmissions

Adding a chemical additive to cows to reduce methane emissions is now approved here in the U.S. Folks in the UK are protesting, but the story remains a sleeper here in the U.S.

The climate hucksters have something to sell. Common sense would tell you that this is nuts. One wonders where Kennedy will come down on this in his new role as head of DHHS, what with all of his support over climate change.

What did the cows ever do to us one has to ask. Ask John Kerry about this nonsense.

I suppose its better than an earlier post and outright killing them.

Ireland Proposes killing 200,000 Cows For Climate Agenda

Newsweek picks up the story:

Bovaer, a cow feed additive given a green light by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the U.S. for reducing methane emissions, is facing a battle for public acceptance as experts assure opponents it is safe.

Bovaer is a new feed additive that claims to significantly reduce the emission of methane, a greenhouse gas that is driving climate change, in dairy cows. DSM-Firmenich, the company behind Bovaer claims it could reduce cow methane emissions by between 30-45 percent. The Global Methane Pledge requires a 30 percent reduction in anthropogenic methane emissions by 2030 from 2020 levels.

But opponents are boycotting the product, with some citing a report by the U.K.’s Food Standards Agency last year, which found that one ingredient, “3-NOP “should be considered corrosive to the eyes, a skin irritant, and potentially harmful by inhalation” to humans handling it. But multiple experts say that there are no harmful chemicals passed through to consumers because they are filtered out by the cow’s digestive system.

….

According to Katie Cook, VP of livestock sustainability at Elanco, 150 farms in the U.S. have now enrolled in the online tool, Uplook, which will be used to quantify greenhouse gas emission reductions when using Bovaer, following the ruling, meaning shoppers could see milk which includes the additive on shelves soon.

How did this all start? Back in 2011 Bunk posted this:

Fart Chart : State list of farts and burps of Dairy Cows

Another EPA farting away millions of dollars in studies. But here is the fearsome sentence:

The $14.6 million NAEMS study, led by Purdue University, was financed by a consent agreement between industry and the EPA to measure emission levels from CAFOs and to develop improved methods for estimating emissions in order to regulate CAFOs and monitor their compliance with the Clean Air Act and other environmental protection laws.

Here is a link to The Cow Fart Chart

In other words, they entered into a legal agreement. Why in the world did they do that? Who entered into the agreement on behalf of the industry?  Guess who will be sued if they do not comply after the EPA comes up with the standard? There will be no more Bessies. Family farms will go, but big Agra will not doubt get waivers. That is how they will do this little number.

Here tis:

The emissions released by cows during milk production may be creating enough environmental pollution to negatively affect human health, which is why we’ve decided to include dairy cow emissions in our research into Milk ProCon.org’s core question “Is drinking milk healthy for humans?”

The US government does not have (as of Jan. 17, 2011) regulations for the amount of allowable air pollutants from dairy farms. In 2007 the EPA began collaborating with eight universities on a National Air Emissions Monitoring Study (NAEMS) to develop such regulations. Full story here at Milk Procon Org

Canada Moves to Reduce Fertilizer Use by 30 Percent

Why not repeat what has already happened in the Netherlands. Better yet, look what happened to Ghana and Sri Lanka not using fertilizer.

They used to export food. Now the people are starving.

Oh yeah, it worked great in Sri Lanka.

The Trudeau government is on a push to get farmers to drop fertilizer use by 30% even as farmers, provinces and industry groups say it will lead to less food produced and higher prices for families at the grocery store. You think? Of Course a bureaucrat makes this decision. All by 2030.

There she goes-

Bloomberg latest – ‘Farmers are dumb’ and death panels are good’

Michael Bloomberg sure knows how to increase his number of his potential constituents. So we already know how he feels about pregnant women… actually women in general. Sunday he tells us let’s kill off the “elderly.”  Bring in the death panels. His stop and frisk policies and Blacks in general. Whose left?

Let’s go after the “low information” voter. The one’s with the low sloping foreheads. He refers to it as a “gray matter issue.” You know, the ones we count on feeding us and making things. Let’s turn them off too. These remarks should make Trump’s deplorables just swing his way.

But we already knew that.

Bloomberg: Government Should Import ‘an Awful Lot More’ Immigrants

Democratic 2020 candidate Michael Bloomberg says he will recruit “an awful lot more” immigrants “to take all the different kinds of jobs” in the U.S. economy.

The immigrants can “improve our culture, our cuisine, our religion, our dialogue, and certainly improve our economy,” Bloomberg told reporters without naming the American cultures, cuisines, religions, and dialogues that would be improved.

“We need an awful lot more immigrants rather than less,” Bloomberg told reporters after he filed the paperwork needed to join the Democratic Party’s primary in Arizona:

Let us not forget the AARP crowd. You know, the ones most likely to come out to vote. Death panels are a real sell.

Mike Bloomberg: All of these costs keep going up. Nobody wants to pay anymore money. And at the rate we’re going healthcare is going to bankrupt us. So not only do we have a problem we’ve got to sit here and say which things we’re going to do and which things we’re not. Nobody wants to do that. If you show up with prostrate cancer and you’re 95 years old, we should say go and enjoy, you’ve had a long life, there’s no cure and we can’t do anything. If you’re a young person, we should do something about it. Society’s not willing to do that, yet.”

Spoken like a true heartless socialist.
How horrible.

Justify your existence George Bernard Shaw

Foreign policy? Doesn’t get much better either.

Let’s make sure we have it down about his China policy……after all Bloomberg makes his billions selling us out to them.

Just for hoots and giggles….. let’s end this on a happy note.

Thats all folks. A roundup of the latest deep swamp creature to rise.

Other than that, all is well.

I’m Farming and I grow it

It has been a tough week, so here is something on the lighter side. If you haven’t caught this, it is worth a look.  A  reminder of those who do the heavy lifting so we can enjoy a good meal. Have a great weekend friends.

Three young men from Kansas took to YouTube to highlight what life as a farmer is really like by putting an agricultural spin on LMFAO’s hit song, “I’m Sexy And I Know It.”

It took some rewriting and early-morning filming, but once “I’m Farming And I Grow It” took off, it catapulted the Peterson brothers to viral video fame. For more on the background: HT: Huff Post

MF Global collapse hits farmers and ranchers, Clinton OK

UPDATE: Bunker had it first: Back on November 3- Corzine bankrupt firm tied to Soros

A major figure in liberal Democrat Jon Corzine’s bankrupt firm, MF Global, used to work for hedge fund operator and Democratic Party financial patron George Soros. MF Global Holdings Ltd., now under FBI investigation, had hired Munir Javeri as Global Head of Trading.

To make matters worse, MF Global had close financial ties to the Federal Reserve. The firm was designated a primary dealer by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, which means that it participated directly in Treasury auctions and provided analysis and market intelligence to trading desks at the New York Federal Reserve.

Bill Clinton reaped big profits from MF Global!  That is the headline.

This is almost too perfect. First we find out that Bill Clinton was being paid by MF Global – of course, no conflict of interest– then what do you know, we are going to bankrupt farmers and Grain Operators with the collapse of MF Global. Those of course, who did not have a “heads up”. George Soros has been buying up farmland and Grain Elevators. So this should work out fine for Georgie et al. I know, I know, another conspiracy. Well, enjoy the ride.

A former MF Global employee accused former president Bill Clinton of collecting $50,000 per month through his Teneo advisory firm in the months before the brokerage careened towards its Halloween filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, reports Human Events.

Teneo was hired by MF Global’s former CEO Jon S. Corzine to improve his image and to enhance his connections with Clinton’s political family, said the employee, who asked that his name be withheld because he feared retribution, according to HE. Read the full story at economicpolicyjournal.com

Farmers and Grain Operators in for big loses.

Many of the farmers who traded with MF Global, which is being investigated over what federal regulators say is an estimated $1.2 billion that may be missing from customer accounts, used the futures markets to reduce the risks of volatile prices. Locking in prices through the futures market — something farmers have been doing for a century — allows them to plan ahead while knowing what their costs will be.

Mike Mouw, co-owner of Mouw’s Feed and Grain Inc. in the southwestern Minnesota town of Leota, said his business relies on the futures markets both when it buys grain from farmers and when it sells feed to hog producers. That makes it possible to for the company to plan two or three years ahead. Now, though, Mouw estimates he’s out about $250,000.

“I’m praying that I get it back,” he said.

Farmers, ranchers and rural businesses such as grain elevators and feed mills were among the hardest hit when they were cut off from the cash in their hedging accounts at MF Global, which sought bankruptcy protection in October after making a disastrous bet on European government debt. The number of people harmed and the extent of their losses isn’t clear yet. Full story Finance yahoo
