Wacko Greenies Suing to Shut Down Power Plant Producing 9 Percent of California Energy

Almost ten percent of California’s energy comes from the last remaining Nuclear power plant, so let’s close it down since  “This is in a state where, according to EnergySage, residents already pay an average of $3,060 a year on their electricity bill — 34 percent higher than the national average.”

Let’s do it after a couple of Billion buckeroos have been spent on it to extend the life 5 years. Typical California where surly a friendly judge will be more than happy to go along with the thought to jettison the plant. Here are the details:

The Associated Press, an environmentalist group called Friends of the Earth is suing the U.S. Department of Energy over its decision to award funds to keep California’s last remaining nuclear power plant, Diablo Canyon, open.

The DOE awarded $1 billion to keep the plant open past its planned 2025 closure date after Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom said shuttering Diablo Canyon, which provides 9 percent of the state’s power, would leave California vulnerable to blackouts, according to regional conservative outlet The Center Square.

“As we experienced during the record heat wave last September, climate change-driven extreme events are causing unprecedented stress on our power grid — the Diablo Canyon Power Plant is important to support energy reliability as we accelerate progress towards achieving our clean energy and climate goals,” Newsom said in a 2023 statement.

In 2022, Newsom signed a bill to allocate $1.4 billion in loans to keep Diablo Canyon, located in San Luis Obispo, to extend its service life to 2030.

“Climate change is causing unprecedented stress on California’s energy system and I appreciate the Legislature’s action to maintain energy reliability as the state accelerates the transition to clean energy,” Newsom said at the time.

The move came after the state announced earlier in the year that it would ban sales of gas-powered cars by 2035; just days afterwards the California Independent System Operator, the non-profit organization which manages most of California’s energy grid, put the Golden State on notice that the stress charging electric vehicles would put on the grid would simply be too much to close a source of reliable, carbon-free energy generation.

CISO pleaded with EV owners to not charge their cars during “flex alerts” because it was “likely to strain the grid with increased energy demands, especially over the [Labor Day] holiday weekend.”

In January, the Biden administration chipped in $1.1 billion to extend the plant’s service life. So, naturally, the environmentalists sued, because reality doesn’t have to matter when you’re a privileged ideologue.

So let’s do the math. They are spending billions to keep the power plant open just to 2030?? The DOE on behalf of all Americans dumped $1 Billion into it. Newsom in 2022 authorized $1.4 Billion in loans. Add that Californians are paying some of the highest energy costs?

Add that to Biden’s yanking 77 small refineries biofuel waivers that now put them at risk for bankruptcy.

Slavery comes to Libya thanks to Hillary Clinton

Hillary is running around the world, mostly unreported, dissing Trump and heralding her wonderful foreign policy. If we wonder why we are up to our eyeballs in difficulty with bringing North Korea under control, we only have to look at  Libya and what happened to Gaddafi. Add Syria too, who was on their way to going nuclear until Israel bombed the heck out of their installations. Here is a memory by

Footage from Libya, released recently by CNN, showed young men from sub-Saharan Africa being auctioned off as farm workers in slave markets.

And how did we get to this point? As the BBC reported back in May, “Libya has been beset by chaos since NATO-backed forces overthrew long-serving ruler Col. Moammar Gadhafi in October 2011.”

And who was behind that overthrow? None other than then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Not a used car, a piece of land, or an item of furniture. Not “merchandise” at all, but two human beings are seen in the video clip at CNN.

You broke it, Hillary. You own it.

Bush 43 had a deal with Gadhafi, according to which the dictator abandoned his weapons of mass destruction in return for not getting deposed. Obama and Hillary reneged on the deal, resulting in the creation of an ISIS/al Qaeda terrorist wonderland in a country that had been neutralized; a flood of largely unassimilable refugees into Europe; America becoming established in the international mind as untrustworthy, so that other dictators will be unlikely to follow Gadhafi’s lead and give up nuclear/biological weapons programs peaceably; and black African slavery.

The Iran hearing that no one covered. Bombs by July, why do they lie?

Search as I might, I could find precious little on the Iran hearing held yesterday, covered by C-Span. It was a damning acknowledgement that the administration’s refusal to release the agreement of suspension of sanctions to the public would reveal that the administration did not understand the technical aspects to which they agreed, or did and did not want it to see the light of day because it would reveal their evilness. Either way, Obama has been had, as well as the United States. One can only wonder if the mischievous Iranian born Valerie Jarrett or Kerry’s Muslim in-laws who still live in Iran, had a hand or was the cause of this treachery. WASHINGTON — President Obama heartily defended his nuclear deal with Iran at the State of the Union, vowing to veto a sizable bipartisan movement in Congress to keep sanctions pressure on the Islamic Republic. But here is the real story:

“Iran will remain perilously close to a nuclear weapon. The joint plan of action allows Iran to continue to produce 3.5 percent enriched uranium which is the key starting material for any Iranian effort to produce HEU for weapons. Iran’s stockpile of this material will continue to grow during the course of this nuclear deal, though several White House statements, as well as Secretary Kerry, have incorrectly claimed otherwise.”

Jones warned that “as this stockpile of enriched uranium grows, the number of nuclear weapons that Iran can produce from it will grow as well.”

“Iran’s stockpile of 3.5 percent enriched uranium in the form of uranium hexafluoride is not supposed to grow. Iran is supposed convert the excess into an oxide form, but Iran can easily convert this material back into hexafluoride once it begins to produce nuclear weapons,” he added. “This fact is well known to U.S. technical experts, but their input was apparently either not sought or heeded.”

“For the sake of our national security, we must give diplomacy a chance to succeed,” Obama said, getting not as much applause as he may have hoped from the joint session.

Gregory Jones, senior researcher of the Nonproliferation Policy Education Center, told a joint hearing of the House Foreign Affairs subcommittees on the Middle East and North Africa and Terrorism, Nonproliferation and Trade that the Obama administration has engaged in “mischaracterization of the deal’s benefits and the denial of the deal’s great flaw.”
