Orban Govt Blasts Ukraine Over Attack On Russian Pipeline Bringing Oil To Hungary

Budapest voiced its opposition to Ukrainian attacks on Russian pipelines that bring oil to Hungary. A Ukrainian attack on a pipeline briefly paused oil deliveries to the neighboring country.

On Tuesday, Ukraine conducted its largest-ever attack on Russia, firing over 300 drones into Russian territory. While Moscow claimed success in downing the UAVs, some reached their targets, killing at least three people. A measuring station on the Druzhba oil pipeline between Russia and Hungary was also hit. 

In response, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó urged Kiev to halt attacks on infrastructure bringing oil into Hungary, which imports most of its crude through the Druzhba pipeline. Despite the damage, the pipeline was operational by Tuesday afternoon.

“We consider the attacks directed against the energy structure of Hungary unacceptable,” Szijjártó said.

While Kiev and Budapest came to an agreement last year that allowed oil to continue to flow through the Ukrainian section of the Druzhba line, Ukraine’s Sanctions Minister Vladyslav Vlasiuk accused Hungary of using the “Druzhba pipeline problem as an argument to block the continuation of sanctions.”

There is concern within the European Union that Hungary will impede the bloc’s sanctions on Russia, as the measures are set to expire next week and must be reapproved with unanimous consent from all member states.

Vlasiuk, the Ukrainian sanctions chief, claimed that Budapest was undermining “the unity of the EU.“

Someone needs to tell him, he’s not the one holding the cards right now.

When you lose a war, have marched hundreds of thousands of young men to their death, and have lost battle after battle to the opposing forces, you don’t get to call the shots.

President Zelensky: As far as red lines, I as president, and Ukrainians as citizens of their country, will not violate their constitution. And will accept our sovereignty and independence. Protecting people and our land. It’s not easy for us to accept fighting such an enemy. This is understandable. But today we are fighting for our independence. Therefore we will not recognize any occupied territories by the Russian Federation.

This is a fact. Our people fought for it. Our heroes died for it. How many wounded. How much has passed. That’s why no one will forget about it. And when I say no one will forget about it, this is the most important red line. We will not let anyone forget about this crime against Ukraine.

MA State Energy Prices Skyrocket After Blocking Pipelines – Needed Russian Imports.

New England had to import a cargo of Russian liquefied natural gas, even though it is located just a few hundred miles from one of the largest natural gas fields in the world.

Now the people of the state are in an uproar over the high cost of heating their homes.

An excellent example of just what has been allowed to happen that puts Americans at risk. 

Even the Boston Globe opined that “Massachusetts’ reliance on imported gas from one of the world’s most threatened places is also a severe indictment of the state’s inward-looking environmental and climate policies.”

The recent winter’s unprecedented imports of Russian liquefied natural gas have already come under fire from Greater Boston’s Ukrainian-American community, because the majority shareholder of the firm that extracted the fuel has been sanctioned by the US government for its links to the war in eastern Ukraine and Russia’s illegal annexation of Crimea. Last week, in response to the outcry, a group of Massachusetts lawmakers, led by Senator Ed Markey, blasted the shipments and called on the federalgovernment to stop them.

Better yet, the Jones Act precludes Americans helping out other Americans:

The U.S. has several LNG export facilities that are already operational or will come online in the coming years. Why can’t we ship American LNG to Boston?

One reason is an antiquated federal law from 1920 – the Jones Act – that prohibits cargoes from being transported between U.S. ports unless they are carried on American-flagged ships.

The stupid thing:

There are about 150,000 miles of oil pipelines and more than 1.5 million miles of natural gas pipelines in theUnited States. ALREADY! 

The U.S. Energy Information Administration recently announced that in 2017, for the first time since 1957, the U.S. exported more natural gas than it imported. But this stopped with Biden.

Feb 5, 2024 — President Biden’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) export ban puts politics over people. It jeopardizes the American economy and our energy security.

Yet, even as we become a global energy superpower, political barriers prevent us from maximizing the benefits of the shale revolution.

New England — located just a few hundred miles from the Marcellus Shale, one of the world’s largest natural gas fields — was forced to import a cargo of Russian liquefied natural gas. This was necessary because anti-energy activists have convinced local elected leaders to block new energy infrastructure, including pipelines that could bring American gas to the region. This is making households in the Northeast more dependent on imported energy, and forcing them to pay among the highest energy bills in the country. More at Washington Examiner

Former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte Arrested on ICC Warrant Related to his Anti-Drug Campaign

Here we go with the International Criminal Court. After a dozen years of investigation, they finally get their 79 year old man. This is not the first we hear of them. They have their eye on Israel. February 6, 2025 Trump issued this:

Former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte was arrested at Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Tuesday, upon his return from Hong Kong.

This arrest stems from a warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC), accusing Duterte of crimes against humanity related to his aggressive anti-drug campaign during his presidency.

Duterte’s tenure from 2016 to 2022 was characterized by a relentless war on drugs called “OPLAN Tokhang,” an anti-drug operation involving house visits to persuade suspected drug users and pushers to surrender. A campaign essential to ridding the nation of the scourge of narcotics.

Human rights groups have recorded approximately 1,400 suspicious killings in Davao during the 22 years Rodrigo Duterte served as mayor.

Despite international criticism, Duterte remained steadfast, asserting that his actions were necessary to ensure the safety and security of the Filipino people.

By October 2016, approximately 732,000 individuals had surrendered to authorities, overwhelming the administration and prompting the construction of more rehabilitation centers. By March 2022, the number of surrenders had exceeded one million.

In response, Duterte announced the Philippines’ withdrawal from the ICC in March 2018, which took effect on March 17, 2019.

Democrat Party’s Desperate Search for a ‘Fresh Face’ to Take them from the Wilderness

Jasmine Crockett, a congresswoman who until about a week ago, no one had ever heard of, has arrived on the scene. Non-stop appearances on all forms of media. Recall AOC aka Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez? Out of nowhere, a sudden media darling as well. Why is the decision being made that Crockett is the new democrat darling? It has even been advanced that she is prime material as a Presidential candidate.

So let’s try and figure out why they are pushing out another potential member of the squad for leadership.

Crockett assumed office in the House of Representatives: On November 20, 2021, incumbent U.S. representative Eddie Bernice Johnson of Texas’s 30th congressional district announced she would not seek reelection in 2022.

Four days later, Crockett declared her candidacy for the seat. Johnson simultaneously announced that she was backing Crockett. Crockett also received extensive financial support from Super PACs aligned with the cryptocurrency industry, with Sam Bankman-Fried’s Protect Our Future PAC giving $1 million in support of her campaign.

In the Democratic primary election, Crockett and Jane Hope Hamilton, an aide to Marc Veasey, advanced to a runoff election, which Crockett won. She then won the general election on November 8. Crockett was chosen to be the 118th Congress’s freshman class representative.

Let’s meet Jasmine.

One thing we know is that the Democrat leadership is sorely lacking. If they were counting on Jeffries over in House leadership of carrying the load, count not.

Well he was rather stuck with this one.

Megyn Kelly Slams MSNBC Hosts ‘There is no Curing You’ as they Attack Cancer Survivor Boy.

The fallout from the strange behavior of the Democrats during Trumps speech to Congress is still reverberating. Nicole Wallace and Rachael Maddow showing no mercy for the child with cancer and their disdain for other regular Americans spotlighted by Trump seemed to take folks over the edge. Add to it that the vast number of both Dems and Gopers approved of the speech.

More Dems are out there saying enough is enough. Which brings us to what is wrong with these people who no longer look like or behave like normal people.

Megyn Kelly talks about Trump Derangement Syndrome and had an interesting discussion.

MEGYN KELLY: I don’t know what’s happened to this person. She used to be a Republican. She was the person who shepherded Chief Justice John Roberts through his confirmation process. It’s Nicole Wallace who now I think her next job will be with the Lincoln project. Here was her reaction to sweet 13 year old DJ…

TRUMP: I look at the Democrats in front of me – I realize, there’s nothing I can say to make them happy, stand, or smile or applaud. I could find a cure to the most devastating disease…or announce the answers to the greatest economy in history, or the stoppage of crime to the lowest levels ever. And these people – sitting RIGHT HERE – will not clap, stand or cheer for these achievements. They won’t, no matter what. 5 times I’ve been up here.

Zelensky to Get his Second Wind to Fight on with the European Summit that Starts Today? UPDATE

The European Union has FAILED to reach a deal for Ukraine, as “emergency meeting” ends with NO funding or rearmament, per NYPost

Is Zelensky getting his second wind? The European Summit that begins today is his best shot for keeping it going, so he apparently thinks. Reports unconfirmed are that Zelensky has changed his mind for the fourth time about the mineral deal back to a NO. Update at bottom of post.

Politico EU indicates Europe is trying to reassemble the deck chairs with Zelensky still Captain of the Ukrainian Ship.

Here we go:

PARIS ― The European Union is used to crises. This could be the one to beat them all.

As the bloc’s 27 leaders gather in Brussels on Thursday, they know the entire post-1945 security architecture ― one that depends on being buttressed by the United States ― could crumble any day.

Since Donald Trump’s return to the White House, leaders have talked a lot about sovereignty and defense. Officials from European governments told POLITICO that they acknowledge that the moment has come to translate words into action, yet some already fear it could go horribly wrong.

French President Emmanuel Macron said a peace agreement in Ukraine cannot be achieved “under Russian diktat,” speaking in a televised address on Wednesday ahead of a major European summit. “Peace cannot be Ukraine’s capitulation. It cannot be its collapse. Nor can it mean a fragile ceasefire,” Macron said.

While French President Emmanuel Macron has talked of the need for “an incredible awakening” and German Chancellor-in-waiting Friedrich Merz described Europe as being “five minutes to midnight,” the worry from those close to the discussion is that events are happening more quickly than they can cope with.

“The nightmare scenario is that the U.S. announces a deal soon that accepts most of Russia’s demands and then tells Ukraine and Europe to take it or leave it,” said Malcolm Chalmers, deputy director general at the Royal United Services Institute in London.

And they’re not only scared of the United States. They’re also wary of some of their own. While Thursday’s hastily arranged summit, just days after less formal gatherings in Paris and London, signals an intention to come up with solutions, diplomats are already bracing for a pro-Russia group of leaders led by Hungary’s Viktor Orbán derailing the whole thing.

Andriy Yermak and Mike Waltz have spoken, and there’s positive movement. We hope to see some results next week”.

Democrats Give a Knockout Blow to Themselves During Trump Speech

The Democrats were unhappy, looking mad at the entire speech last night. Even a child who overcame cancer couldn’t lift them out of their self-centered haze. One general conclusion on X is that the party is beyond saving. A tweet that set it up:

President Trump played the Democrats perfectly. By saying at the beginning of the speech that they wouldn’t stand and clap for anything, it forced them into a position where they didn’t want to appear weak by standing after Trump said they wouldn’t. Masterfully done.
