Trump Replaces One Member of the Federal Reserve Swamp – A Lot More to Go

Don’t get overly excited by the news of Trump getting a replacement for a vacancy on the Federal Reserve Board. A long way to go to clean out this piece of the swamp.

President Trump on Thursday afternoon announced Dr. Stephen Miran will fill the vacancy on the Federal Reserve Board until January 31, 2026.

Last week Biden-appointed Federal Reserve Governor Adriana Kugler announced she will be resigning from her post Friday, August 8.

Adriana Kugler’s resignation left President Trump a vacancy to fill.

“Dr. Kugler, who has served as a governor since September 13, 2023, submitted her letter of resignation to President Trump and will return to Georgetown University as a professor this fall,” the announcement said last week.

On Thursday, President Trump announced Dr. Stephen Miran, current Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors, will fill the vacancy.

“It is my Great Honor to announce that I have chosen Dr. Stephen Miran, current Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors, to serve in the just vacated seat on the Federal Reserve Board until January 31, 2026. In the meantime, we will continue to search for a permanent replacement. Stephen has a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University, and served with distinction in my First Administration. He has been with me from the beginning of my Second Term, and his expertise in the World of Economics is unparalleled — He will do an outstanding job. Congratulations Stephen!” President Trump said on Truth Social on Thursday.

Well, one down but a lot more to go. Compare this candidate to this member who is a total joke.

A short review of a portion of a post back in November of 2023,

Mary Daly, the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco chief who failed to see major red flags at failed Silicon Valley Bank, was inspired by Marxian economist Gene Wagner, who she said “has mentored me my whole life” Talk about moral hazards: The lesbian activist protege of Biden Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen was more concerned with regulating culture than regulating banks. Also a BLM activist.

Federal Reserve Bank of San Fran Prez Mary Daly turned a blind eye to Silicon Valley Bank. President and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco since October 1, 2018. She serves on the Federal Reserve’s rate-setting Federal Open Market Committee on a rotating basis.

Mary Daly’s career trajectory: drops out of High School, works at a donut shop, gets GED, goes to college, becomes enamored with leftist prof teaching Marxian economics, becomes San Fran Federal labor researcher, ingratiates herself with Janet Yellen, who keeps promoting her first openly gay Fed/ prez/CEO.  Her background is in the study of economic equality.

Conversation with Dr Mary Daly, Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco

Now that we have an idea of who they might be, back to the story.

The Federal Reserve decision, CNBC’s Steve Liesman highlights a wild card in the process: the high number of freshmen FOMC voters. The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) consists of twelve members–the seven members of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System; the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York; and four of the remaining eleven Reserve Bank presidents. This video is from two years ago.

And we wonder what is wrong with the Federal Reserve?

Senator Warren and NYC Mayor Candidate Mamdomi – Perfect Together

Senator Warren has had numerous jokes made about her so-called lack of Indian heritage for decades of which she claimed. It often belied the seriousness of what she and her agenda was all about. We need not wonder anymore. Lost to memory for many is that back in 2020 she was a candidate for President. For a time she and Bernie Sanders were doing very well in the polls.

Of course the so called Billionaires will just head South by Southwest and kiss NYC bye bye. Wall Street? With the new technology now there is less and less reason for the companies to keep their headquarters in the city and to remain as well.

Bunk just wandered through some of the oldie moldies of Bunk’s past posts about her.We should have paid a bit more attention to what a true Marxist she is of what she was all about. Let us let this be a lesson not to let these Commies slide by again. Here are a portion of previous posts.

Warren Says She’s Willing To Ban Construction of New Homes in America

January 16, 2020 — bunkerville

If your new home isn’t carbon neutral, an Elizabeth Warren presidency might not let you build it. And if that means no new homes get built in the United States, the Massachusetts senator and Democrat presidential nominee says she’s fine with that.

In the fog of being overloaded with news, it is easy to miss just how radical the Democrat nominees are. We should be concerned that the two communists are either leading or close to it in some polls. What in the world are people thinking? It is now acceptable to destroy our economy on the altar of Progressive Climate Change nonsense? No drill baby drill for her. She would have us live in tents as in San Fran? It’s interesting that none of this was brought forth in the recent debate. But of course.

All of this comes after she made her millions flipping houses.

Fauxcahontas Warren flipped houses, was a GOPer, became a multimillionaire first

In her 2006 book All Your Worth, co-authored with her daughter, Amelia, Warren lists as a top myth the idea that “you can make big money buying houses and flipping them quickly.” She has made a career out of telling people how to behave in financially responsible ways, and out of creating laws that will make it illegal for them to do otherwise.

Elizabeth Warren

WesternJournal report: During her appearance on Morning Joe, Warren was asked what she’d do to “change the tide of U.S. policy on the issue of climate change” and acted as if she’d been thrown the softball of all softballs.

“That means we’ve got to be willing to do things, for example, like regulation. By 2028, no new buildings, no new houses, without a zero carbon footprint.”

And she’s coming for your car and electricity bill, too.

“By 2030, trucks — light-duty trucks and cars, zero carbon footprint. By 2035, all production of electricity, zero carbon footprint,” Warren said.

Oh, and there was also talk of some vague idea of social justice — because schemes like this always need to be undergirded with some such vague idea-

“We also need to make environmental justice really at the heart of our climate plan,” Warren said.

Elizabeth Warren promises illegals commisson to investigate US crimes against them

We have a Presidential candidate no less threatening the very thin blue line of patriotic men and women. Those men and women who for some reason are still willing to risk life and limb keeping the angry hungry hordes from over running our country. Disregard this at our peril. This is scary dude stuff. She has a fairly good chance of becoming the Democrat Presidential candidate.

Democrat presidential hopeful Sen. Elizabeth Warren promised a crowd of supporters on Saturday that on her first day in the White House, she would create a commission to investigate “crimes committed by the United States against immigrants.”

…..

“On my first day, I will empower a commission in the Department of Justice to investigate crimes committed by the United States against immigrants,” she declared at the leftist Netroots Nation conference.

In an outrageous, sweeping attack on the good people working Border Protection missions during the current Democrat-fueled immigration crisis, Warren broad-brushed baseless accusations that are making life for them more dangerous and difficult.

According to Warren’s published plan … “President Trump has weaponized deportation in ways that are costly, ineffective, and designed to maximize pain. It’s time to end this cruelty — and refocus on true threats to public safety and national security instead.”

Referring to an “obsessive focus” on border enforcement, Warren wrote: “And under Trump, it has become increasingly abusive. We should repeal this criminal prohibition to prevent future abuse.

As president, I will immediately issue guidance to end criminal prosecutions for simple administrative immigration violations; end Operation Streamline, which subjects migrants to mass prosecutions; and refocus our limited resources on actual criminals and real threats to the United States.

Fauxahontas Warren spent weekend in China trying to cause heap big trouble

Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren is in China for Easter weekend, speaking with dignitaries in Beijing about her reservations regarding President Trump’s actions on the world stage and collective concerns about Sino-American trade relations.

Warren, a Democrat whose name has been floated as a 2020 Trump opponent, talked trade policy with Vice Premier Liu He, Defense Minister Wei Fenghe and another Chinese official named Yang Jiechi, according to Reuters.

“This has been a chaotic foreign policy in the region, and that makes it hard to keep the allies that we need to accomplish our objectives closely stitched in,” Warren said.

She reportedly accused Trump of trying to “take the legs out from underneath [the American] diplomatic corps,” which “Fox & Friends” discussed may have been a reference to the president’s firing of Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

“You can’t but help see this through a political prism,” Griff Jenkins said. “She is trying to go overseas and undermine our significant and very important negotiations.”

Don’t Blame Schumer for Failure to Pass Trump Nominees

The failure to pass nominees rests with McConnell and Thune. The GOP closed up shop regardless of the hostage efforts of Schumer for his bribe offers and Trump ending the so-called negotiations that never needed to take place. Let’s take a look at Bunks previous post back in November 25 2024. Don’t count on McConnell changing any rules, and thanks Thune for not adjourning so Trump could make interim appointments.

Thune kissed the ring of McConnell as we learn, in order to take over as Senate Leader.

McConnell Takes Control of Two Most Powerful Committees as he Steps Down as Leader

Thune AKA Paul Ryan 2.0. Trading one master for another. While we celebrated the GOP taking control of the Senate this past election, one has to wonder how far did we come in ridding ourselves of the worst elements that stymied Trump his last go around. It turns out that the old fool McConnell has cut himself a sweet deal in keeping his cold almost dead hands on control of the Senate.

While he may have turned leadership over the Senator Thune, McConnell instead will be in control of the two most powerful committees in the Senate. Maine’s Senator Collins will be right there along side of him taking control of the full Appropriations Committee, another one who with her side kick Murkosksi from Alaska, are thorns in the GOP side

Maine Sen. Susan Collins currently holds the top Republican slot on the Defense Subcommittee, which drafts the Pentagon’s annual spending bill, worth $825 billion.

Collins is expected to become chairwoman of the full Appropriations Committee next year and McConnell said in the statement he looks forward to working with her “to accomplish our shared goal.”

It wasn’t immediately clear Thursday if Collins would become chairwoman of one of the Appropriations Committee’s other 11 subcommittees.

McConnell will also take over the Senate Rules Committee, one of the oldest panels in the chamber that holds a broad jurisdiction.

The GOP Senate members elected Thune by secret ballot just 24 hours after they got into town.

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), who backed Scott on the first ballot, tried to convince his colleagues Tuesday to postpone the leadership election until later in November to give Trump and his team more time to weigh in on the race.

“We’re not even in town for 24 hours. I told them, ‘I’m offended by that.’ I think quite honestly that’s outrageous. They’re just trying to jam this down everybody’s throat,” Johnson said of the decision to hold the Senate election less than 24 hours after senators convened again in Washington after the Nov. 5 nationwide election.

The Hill

These people are everything wrong with America Yet somehow Mitch McConnell has just been handed one of the highest position in Government where he can block Donald Trump’s agenda I honestly don’t even have words to describe this.

Here is the man of the hour

And a hush falls upon the noisy city. The worst of the swamp.

On a personal note Bunk struggles on with efforts to come back to full force. Posts will occur as I am able to rise to the occasion. Many thanks for all your prayers and good wishes. Much peace.

Bunk from Bunkerville on the way home

After two months it looks like Bunk is on the way home tomorrow. Its been a long battle that started with Covid and ended up with a medical misadventure as they say in medical jargon. A long way to go, but caught all the news thats happening and it looks like we are finally on the right track. So glad my last post was about this nasty fellow out of New York running for Mayor.

Thanks for all your prayers and when up to it will get back into the fray. Keep on keeping on.

Marxist Muslim Ugandan NYC Mayoral Candidate Mamdani Now Only Single Digits Behind Cuomo

Fast talking good looking Mayoral Candidate Mamdani for NYC, belies the truth of his agenda for the city. He was wise enough to rid himself of any foreign accent from Uganda. The attacks on Cuomo are starting in earnest. This is a race to be watched in earnest.

An update on Bunks Covid. My rocket ride with Covid seems to have taken a turn for the better and I am starting to see a light at the end of this nasty tunnel. Last week I had thought it had broken, but got stuck in a relapse. Thanks for all your prayers and concern. Still a long way to go.

Let’s update the NYC Mayors race.

From the New York Times:

The ballot order has been randomly chosen, and you almost have to wonder if the lottery balls were momentum-weighted. Atop the ballot will be Zohran Mamdani, a state assemblyman who has quickly risen to second place in public polls. The front-runner, former Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, will be listed sixth. Does ballot order matter? It didn’t seem to in 2021, when Aaron Foldenauer nabbed the top spot, and the eventual winner, Eric Adams, was listed ninth.

What, if anything, surprised you as you pulled together the data?

Well, Mamdani’s numbers are obviously pretty eye-popping. It’s not just that he has a lot of donors, or that he’s raised a lot of money — he’s also managed to reach voters in seemingly every corner of the city. There are neighborhoods where almost everyone who made a donation to any campaign donated to Mamdani. Like in Bushwick, there were a total of 785 donors who gave to Democrats, and 692 of them were Mamdani donors.

Four years ago we have his selling point of Rent Control for the city which no doubt is appealing with its high housing costs.

From an earlier post:

Socialist NYC Mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani leads a protest against the arrest of Newark’s Mayor for storming an ICE facility. Zohran Mamdani has said that migrants are “residents” of wherever they live and that “we will protect you.”

To say this candidate is a Socialist is being kind. Flying under the radar is this foreign Marxist Muslim Mayoral candidate that not enough attention is being given. Zohran Kwame Mamdani was born and raised in Kampala, Uganda.

The New York City primary Mayoral race is June 24. It is a jungle primary where voters select the top five candidates so anything can happen. As goes the Primary I suspect goes the General election. After all it is NYC.

Just a few weeks away. Mamdani is only single digits away from taking out Cuomo. Part from an earlier post.

Zohran Kwame Mamdani was born and raised in Kampala, Uganda. Why am I not surprised? So far the race is shaping up for the leaders to be Cuomo, Progressive Landers and the Mamdani the Socialist. Cuomo is looking better, or rather, the last best hope. As of now there are seven candidates. It’s a jungle primary with the voter ranking the top 5 candidates. A few weeks to go until the primary election. Here is the Mamdani bio….

…. Taking that lesson with him, he went on to co-found his college’s first Students for Justice in Palestine chapter and later organize across the country with different progressive organizations seeking to win national elections as well as expand healthcare coverage. As life took its inevitable turns, with detours in film, rap, and writing, it was always organizing that ensured that the events of our world would not lead him to despair, but to action.

Zohran is proud to be the first South Asian man to serve in the NYS Assembly as well as the first Ugandan and only the third Muslim to ever be a member of the body. For too long, communities such as these have been left out of our state’s politics and priorities. Zohran will seek to amplify the voices of the preferably unheard across both the district and the state for as long as he remains in office.

So this Muslim foreigner thinks he has a good chance now at being the Mayor of New York City. The latest>

Here is a clip in his early career.

Zohran Mamdani is one of a handful of democratic socialists who will join the state Legislature next year. He joins us to talk about his plans for when he takes office in January.

Good luck NYC.

The Supreme Court, Jerome Powell Fed Chair and Trump – Why we have Much to Fear

First a quick update on Bunk’s Covid…. I am starting to make some progress and still a good way to go. More about that at a later date, but thanks so much for all the prayers and best wishes.

Our intrepid Mustang who comments and posts occasionally spurred me on in a note of concern regarding the latest Supreme court ruling yesterday.

The three liberal members of the court dissented from the decision by six conservative justices, which keeps Wilcox and Harris off their boards as their lawsuit challenging their terminations is pending.

While Thursday’s decision does not explicitly bar Trump — or any other president — from firing a Federal Reserve board member, it suggests that any effort by a president to do so would face strong resistance from the Supreme Court as currently constituted.

A federal district court judge in Washington, D.C., had enjoined Trump from removing both women from their respective boards. An appeals court later upheld that order. More at CNBC

With Moody’s recent downgrade of the U.S. Credit Rating which did not take any hit during Biden’s term with the outrageous spending spree, one has to wonder what truly is going on with our financial system. Back in the day when I was in better form I had more interest in this topic. So I figure why not haul out a few oldies for a bit of an insight on the machinations of the Fed and why Trump may know and have a lot more concern than we are aware of. Drum roll please:

Looking back at Bunks Box of Gold, this nonsense started under Obama. Who else?

Is the Federal Reserve violating the U.S. Constitution’s separation of powers in its new purchases of $600 billion worth of U.S. Treasuries? Is the Fed engaging in an unconstitutional monetization of the   U.S. Congress’ out of control spending spree that is really a bridge loan to fiscal insanity?

Germany, China, Russia and Brazil are attacking the Fed’s move. President Barack Obama is now defending the Fed in his overseas trip to India. Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin demanded that the Fed “cease and desist” on its bond purchases. Wall Street experts are now starting to call the Fed’s moves an end run around the legislature.

And even Fed chairman Bernanke has criticized such extracurricular activity on the part of central banks in the past.

Watching closely in the wings are the Congressmen who want a full-fledged audit of the Fed, including Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas), who said he will push to examine the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy decisions if he takes control of the Congressional subcommittee that oversees the central bank, as expected, in January.

Although Article I of the Constitution specifically gives Congress the power to “borrow,” “coin” and “regulate” money, a little understood section of the Federal Reserve Act, section 14(b)(1), does let the Fed buy Treasuries in the open market — and under the Act the central bank can buy foreign debt, too. But that act, put in place in the early part of the 20th century, was meant for smaller bore purchases to help the government build bridges and roads–not the massive intervention planned now. Fed historians fear the central bank is now pushing the envelope of the Federal Reserve Act. For more on the section, click here.

Now here is more to set your teeth into.. Great graphs to help understand what is going on..

Federal Reserve is Wrecking the Banking System- Looks like printing money constantly is really working!

The Fed used to be profitable and send billions of $$$ per year to the US Treasury to help pay for the budget. Because of reverse repos and interest on reserves, now the Fed pays commercial bank $700 million PER DAY to keep the system from falling apart. It will be a long time before the Fed is profitable again, if ever. Quote E.J. Antoni, Ph.D.

This isn’t some random crypto coin, meme stock, junk bond, or 3rd world country’s currency – it’s the losses at the Fed. The people with a money printer somehow managed to lose money. Billions of dollars…

Before you gray over thinking this is beyond you understaing this scheme, the Heritage Foundation does a nice piece for us average Joe and Bettys on what these graphs really mean to you an me. Why we should care. The ultimate Ponzi scheme, and it is worth the time. Keep reading

Flashback: How Biden Wasted 1.2 Trillion in the Infrastructure Bill that was Passed

We hear of airport radar screens going dark yet no one is held accountable. Billions in infrastructure funding were passed during the reign of Biden. Buttigieg as Transportation Secretary had his hand on the wheel. Let us not forget how we got here. Wasting Billions.

So let’s call this flashback Friday – Let’s take a look at how we got here from Bunks Box of Golden Moments from earlier posts:

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said on Monday that his agency would use a part of the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill to address racial inequities in U.S. highway design.

The program, called “Reconnecting Communities,” will focus on the “legacy of highway construction built through communities” and remove or repurpose infrastructure barriers. (Worth taking the ride out to the link.)

The GOP is quick to point out that the latest spend-a-rama bill just passed only has about ten percent for infrastructure as we know it. There is precious little discussed of the remaining 90 percent. Try as I might, I can only find a broad brush of it. But here is one jewel that deserves our attention:

Tucked in amid larger pots of money is $20 billion to “reconnect neighborhoods cut off by historic investments (in infrastructure)” and to ensure new projects advance racial and environmental justice.

Critics say it could produce unintended consequences such as more traffic congestion in local neighborhoods — especially if it leads to closing or significantly altering highways, as some cities are contemplating.

Some cities, such as Syracuse, N.Y., want to tear down portions of urban highways, restore old street grids and redevelop neighborhoods. O’Toole is skeptical, saying highway demolition could increase traffic congestion in local neighborhoods and lead to other unintended consequences.

“I’m afraid what we’re going to see with this $20 billion is anti-road people tearing out roads,” O’Toole said.

So far, no one is suggesting that will happen in Atlanta. But there are proposals to build parks over the Downtown Connector. Williams recently requested nearly $1.2 million in federal funding for one of those projects, “The Stitch,” which would cover the highway between the MARTA Civic Center station and Piedmont Road.

“I think our communities are trying to figure out how to reconnect, and have had some success,” said A.J. Robinson, president of Central Atlanta Progress, which proposed The Stitch. “We just need more connections.”

Bunks Bonus of Total Nonsense.

Pete Buttigieg Announces $19.5 Million Grant for Heated Sidewalks

A major influx of federal transportation dollars is on its way to the North Country. So goes the synopsis of this grant for the boonies of a forgotten northern town of Berlin, New Hampshire. I could ask about what is being done about our roads and bridges that are decaying beneath our trucks and cars, as opposed to not shoveling a sidewalk but then I would not be in the spirit of the moment.

Pete says the money is going toward economic growth.

You may ask just where is Berlin NH?

It is the northernmost city in New Hampshire. The population was 9,425 at the 2020 census,[5] down from 10,051 at the 2010 census

….

Now that is no small chump change. Guess whose the chump? Try American taxpayers. Of course does anyone really think it will end up costing just $19.5 million?

How about the maintenance of this project when completed? Thought I might ask…

Historically these systems were expensive to install, problematic to operate, and occasionally unreliable.

The best of the swamp. No money for our airport upgrades for our air traffic control,  but lots for nonsense.
