SPAYMOBILE

Tackling pet overpopulation, one paw at a time

In addition to providing services for the public,  we are currently using the Amanda Spaymobile to partner with LA shelters, providing spay/neuter services to dogs and cats, making them adoption-ready. These shelters are in crisis, flooded with homeless pets.

Prevention, the cornerstone of ending pet homelessness, starts with spaying and neutering. The Amanda Spaymobile is leading the charge by bringing critical services directly to the communities that need them most, especially low-income neighborhoods where pet care can be a financial burden.

California’s longest-running and most successful free mobile spay/neuter program, the Amanda Spaymobile is a specially designed mobile surgical unit staffed by experienced, high-volume spay/neuter doctors. We offer free procedures and vaccinations, making responsible pet ownership accessible to all.

The impact is undeniable. Every spay or neuter is a life saved. Imagine the countless animals spared from a crowded shelter or a life on the streets – all thanks to a simple procedure.

Why Spay/Neuter

Shelters are overwhelmed with homeless dogs and cats. Adoption is not the sole answer. Prevention is the most effective strategy to keep them empty. Spaying and neutering prevents excess litters and keeps your pet healthy.

A single cat can produce an astonishing 100+ kittens in her lifetime, with litters of up to 8 kittens each, and can start breeding as early as 5 months old. This significantly impacts already overflowing shelters.  Neutering goes beyond preventing unwanted litters. It significantly reduces roaming, territorial marking, and aggression, making your furry friend a calmer, more enjoyable companion.

Both dogs and cats can reach sexual maturity by 6 months, sometimes even earlier. This means they can contribute to pet homelessness before you even realize it. Spaying and neutering not only extend your pet’s lifespan but also make them easier to train. Unneutered animals are more likely to roam, leading to injuries or getting lost.
