You aren't Asian. You're American As an Asian from Asia, I have the authority to tell you that Asians have always eaten rice with their hands
As an Asian, I feel I have authority on rice: Eating rice with your hands is gross, strange, and barbaric. Nobody in my family has ever done this. He acts like utensils were never invented.

This is what it looks like when westerners (Americans in particular) with no knowledge of Asian cultures and languages try to apply their worldview to Asian countries. Many have already explained what the character represents as a disadvantaged South Asian migrant worker
I don’t speak Korean, and the subtitles are reportedly bad. But, please explain why Squid Game portrays the only non-Korean main character as a brown skinned man who the entire time snivels in “sirs,” gratitude, sacrifice, and subservience to people equally fucked as him.

    "W-when I said Asian I meant 3 countries"
Koreans, Japanese, and Chinese don't eat rice with our hands. It's only SE Asians.

In #JapaneseFolklore there's a gruesome practice known as hitobashira, where a living human being is buried alive in the foundations of a building, especially castles or bridges. These sacrifices were a form of magic based on the belief that sacrificing a... #FolkloreSunday 1/2

Since #mermaids are on everyone's mind right now, let's talk a bit about their depiction in Southeast Asia. Mermaids are known in Malay as duyung or duyong. They're generally harmless and don't drown or eat people like in Europe

Guys, let's get this straight. If you ever have the "feel" to rape or molest a woman, that's your fault. No matter what she's wearing, even if it's the tiniest bikini. Getting turned on may be normal, but the urge to rape is not. Obvious stuff

Growing up, most of us probably experienced this with our parents. No matter how politely you counter their arguments, and no matter how wrong they happen to be, the Asian parents' response is to call us rude or disrespectful. Now we're seeing that on a larger scale
