    This narrative is complete crap and only stokes further division. - Over a 100+ day period, some 570 George Floyd protests turned violent. During all of that, *one* protestor was killed by police. - That death toll was matched in under 90 minutes during the Capitol Hill riot.

    When a high schooler gave an uncomfortable smile while an adult man banged a drum in his face, CNN and WaPo dedicated an entire news cycle to character-assassinating a kid. When an adult man drove into a crowd, killing 6 and injuring 60, they gave headlines about "a car".

    With respect, I don't see how this is a great take. Skin color is an immutable attribute. The hat you wear is a voluntary identification with any range of ideas, from the innocuous to the insidious. I think we can have a discussion on where the MAGA hat resides on that scale?
