For a long time now I've thought that a deep problem we have—in Ottawa, in Ontario, in Canada, in the West—is that we've collectively forgotten that stuff is hard. Science is hard. Democracy is hard. Justice is hard. Defending ourselves is hard.

One positive thing out of all this is it’s really outed a lot of people who just don’t care at all whether what they’re saying is true.

Among the measures in the Emergencies Act moves: Putting crowdfunding and other platforms, like crypto, under the Fintrac rules like banks. Separate legislation to come to make those elements permanent.

My kid goes to school in Centretown so I’ve just had a conversation with him about about not gawking if he sees trucks or police or people running around and to get indoors. In school if he can, or in a store, or by banging on somebody’s door if he has to.

Again: THE STATED GOAL OF THE CONVOY PROTEST IS TO OVERTHROW THE GOVERNMENT. They say it over and over again. Take what people say seriously.
In an 'emergency' press conference, the truckers' new spokesperson Tom Marazzo says: "I'm willing to sit at a table with the conservatives and the NDP and the Bloc, as a coalition. I'll sit with the governor general."

This thing where The Rebel goes to court and gets the chance to ask post-debate questions and then uses those questions to ask about whether it should have the chance to ask questions is just embarrassing.

It's absolutely bonkers that nobody in the whole RCMP chain of command said, "Hold up."

Because of all the OTHER biggest scandals in the history of the presidency.

It's a really big problem that multiple police officers testified to something that was at odds with video evidence and crash reconstruction. At *best,* these police officers cannot be trusted to accurately recount events they witnessed because they're too easily confused.

As the Chief was leaving, he was asked if he would address allegations of perjury and collision in the testimony. The chief replied “today’s not the day for that. We will talk later.”

I think we'd need a scoring formula to make a definitive ranking, but I'd put the family-separation policy, the confessed criminals running the campaign, and the record of sexual assaults right up there, just in the last two years.
