    NEW: A senior Canadian official tells me that Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland has been working the phones since Tuesday to build support for cutting Russia off from its foreign currency reserves. It looks like the EU has reached consensus on that point tonight.

    This is absolutely deranged. A group of anti-vaccine conspiracy theorists organized an occupation of our capital, encouraged by the Conservative Party. After three weeks, the police are clearing out the city as slowly and non-confrontationally as possible. This is the reaction?

    I'm disturbed & saddened by what we are seeing today in Ottawa. This situation was created by the PM & his desire to divide Canadians. It’s time for MPs to return to the House tomorrow to stop the overreach by this government & restore unity, wholeness & hope back to our nation.

    For about a week, I've been chasing a lead: that someone was sharing internal police communications with folks involved in the occupation. I haven't been able to nail it down. But: Far-right influencer Jeremy MacKenzie just posted a bunch of screenshots of an RCMP group chat.

    The Prime Minister will be providing an update on the ongoing occupation anytime now. I'm hearing he WILL NOT be resigning and handing over power to an anti-vax junta to arrest Pfizer executes and Bill Gates, but we shall see.

    The occupiers are having a press conference right now. They say they "threw out" CTV. Because they're "teaching the fake news industry what news is." Can't stress enough that these people only want to face questions from people supportive of their movement.

    We, of course, ought to consider that a crowd of mostly-white folks got this light-touch treatment while homeless encampments and Indigenous occupations get systematically more aggressive and dangerous interventions. It's hard to ignore the stark difference.
