Fire departments don't allow beards. It's a hold over from WW1 where military regulations didn't allow beards because they could interfere with gas masks. They are allowed to grow mustaches. Guys do this as kind of an FU to the system for trying to regulate their facial hair.

I've lived in various states (PA, WA, CA, NJ, NY, and FL). When I moved to Florida after 10 years in NY I was shocked how well run the government was. No one has been able to explain to me yet what all the tax money I paid to NYC was doing.

I personally hate the RPC style endpoints. You should not have /completed-orders. You should have /orders with the option to add a query param for status if you really need it.

If you think it's B, tell me this: What happens if the piston suddenly stops half way through the cube then reverses direction? Once it's completely retracted is the cube still sitting there like normal? Torn apart? Is the entire thing somehow pulled through the portal?

Not trusting their instincts. When you're educated you're basically constantly taught not to trust your instincts. Which can be genuinely good advice when doing science. But it makes reasonably smart people susceptible to being "logiced" into believing complete nonsense.
