Nice one @CheckersSA, Checkers Sea Point... How does 1 kg of potatoes become 0.789 grams? (Ah, the joys of having a scale at home) fyi @wendyknowler Hoping all consumers start checking weights @PicknPay @Shoprite_SA @WOOLWORTHS_SA

The ANC wouldn't let the Dalai Lama come for his good friend Archbishop Tutu's funeral, but they'll welcome a Russian oligarch & his super-yacht (the ultimate symbol of inequality)? How low can they go?

Reminds me of an interview I saw with Alfred Hitchcock. He tells how, to help his daughter doing a film course, he wrote an assignment for her on... the film work of Alfred Hitchcock. And received only a 60% mark for it. 😂

Damage to a road surface is proportional to weight cubed - we learned that in civil engineering 2nd year. So, if a truck weighs 10x as much as a car, it causes 10^3 x as much damage. ie 1000x as much damage! We desperately need more rail, to save our roads from truck damage.

We hear a lot on #Eskom & if De Ruyter & co is up to the job, but what of the other side of the coin? NERSA. What are their qualifications? Are they really the best SA can get? fyi @AntonEberhard @mybroadband @BusinessLiveSA @OUTASA @chrisyelland @helenzille @mmarkovitz

I'm sure they are our archetypes - instincts so refined as to be autonomous personalities within us all, pulling our strings. The Greeks knew them as Gods. We sometimes see them in our #dreams, & ignore them at our peril.

The wind blows in winter. The sun also shines in winter. Northern Cape gets the most clear sunny days in the world - Upington gets on average 355 sunny days per year!

It would cost 'only' R2 billion to install 100,000 solar geysers (at R20k each), which may be the cheapest fastest way to reduce load on the grid - since these reduce home's power consumption by 50% or more! Let's do this!

If we think about how much tax we pay in SA... VAT, excise duties, income tax, not forgetting property taxes, capital gains etc... then it becomes clear that even a small contribution to OUTA each month is such good value for money!

Yes, this is when I think many religions got stuck - when we started writing down #mythologies as religious doctrine, instead of letting these mythologies grow alongside us, as a reflection of our evolving consciousness(es).

I don’t about you, but I get my best ideas off the screen, outside, on the mountain/beach, running/swimming/ hiking/ walking or even just in the shower. So was interesting to hear @hubermanlab talking on states of wordlessness. Great podcast @lexfridman!
