My best friend died during pregnancy. The baby was too big for her frame & put so much pressure on her lungs she was suffocated by her own baby. Baby didn't make it either. When she told docs she was struggling, they told her it was normal to feel like that in late pregnancy.

I'm a teacher & there's so many stupid rules like this & I happily break them! Want 2 go use the toilets? Feel free! IBS, periods, crohns - how can you learn when you feel uncomfortable/in pain? Same with coats - if you're cold, keep it on! Coldness distracts from learning.

Thank you. She wanted a baby so badly & the last pic I have of her was one she sent me of her bump about a week before she died saying how tired she was but it would all be worth it in the end 😥

I had a mask altercation today in a supermarket. I'd finished my shopping & was standing by the entrance checking my receipt in the area where the trolleys are. Immediately to my left was the manager's office & two staff members were standing in the doorway. The tills were 1/

Today the GP surgery was like a sauna, packed with people coughing & sneezing. Thermometer said 23 degrees. Asked for window to be opened. Told "no, older people like it warmer". Had to use toilet for sample. Signs everywhere about hand hygiene, but no hot water, no soap 1/2

There was a post yesterday that really upset me. Covid is still here, it's impact is still huge & it is still affecting many people. I'm just going to type this as I'm thinking it to get it off my chest. This is my story about how Covid has affected me & my family just in 2024🧵

I'm not naming the store as there's not much they can do now, but after me shouting, "oye" loudly & the big crash when the trolley hit what was next to me, everyone noticed, no one said anything & I'm a little more saddened by people & their lack of societal support. 5/5

I'm a teacher. Through continual tracking & observations, I've seen many cognitive changes in students, some of which I've taught 3yrs so have lots of data for & know well. The most upsetting was a 14yo who sat at his desk crying as something he'd been able to do unassisted & 1/

Interesting! So not only are the Australian Olympics team wearing respirators, IOC are running courses on respiratory care for athletes later this year. It's like theres a respiratory (& vascular) illness circulating that can disable even healthy people 🤔

I teach Maths. I return to work next week. Like last year, I'll put on an N95 mask before entering the building & not take it off again until after I've left. Maths is a science & I teach with practical demonstrations, leading by example. #staysafe #humanitynotvanity #WearAMask

3/ with EHCPs in some classes. Pre2020, the most I'd ever had was 6. I've seen strokes, heart issues, blindness in one eye & more. All starting just after Covid. I'm leaving teaching over it. It's too much seeing kids I care about becoming disabled in front of my eyes. I can only

Empty antibac, dirty rag to wipe hands on. I was only masker. Was told surgery running late due to sickness. Was seeing nurse today, but GP came out all smiley & said, "not given up wearing that yet then". It seemed they'd given up on all hygiene, not just infection control 2/2

It was made obvious to me that this was because I was masked. I get comments & sniggers a lot, & a long time ago now had someone spit at me. Like Covid, the store minimised what happened today saying perhaps he was just putting the trolley away & missed?!?! 4/

2/ easily weeks earlier, he had no idea how to approach just after a Cov infection. He could see in himself that something wasn't right & was scared. This isn't a one off. If you would like a fuller detailed record of the health impact on children, speak to LA's. I have 12 kids
