As someone who sees FMD patients suffering every day in clinic, it continues to surprise me that I am STILL asked by other neurologists and even residents “is FND malingering?” Articles like this will go a long way to change these harmful misconceptions. Bravo @jonstoneneuro!

I’m very proud of @GGilmourMD's fantastic new review on diagnosing #FMD. There are many excellent reviews on this already, and here’s what we add that’s different (tweet summary). Moving Beyond Movement: Diagnosing Functional Movement Disorder

I’m very pleased to announce the release of the new article on #FMD for ⁦@UpToDate. It’s so important that clinicians and trainees recognize this common condition for improved patient care and outcomes. ⁩⁦@FNDSociety⁩ ⁦@UHNSHSNeurology⁩ uptodate.com/contents/funct…

Yesterday I had the honour of giving a TEDx talk @TEDxUofT. “It’s all in your head” is about integrating mind and body to remove stigma in health care systems. I was so inspired by the professional, organized, and motivated UofT students who pulled it all together.💜

What would happen if a neurologist, psychiatrist, physiotherapist, and person with #FMD were in the same room? Would new observations be seen? Would patterns emerge? That’s what we tried to describe in @GGilmourMD’s brilliant new paper.

Take a listen to the promo for the exciting new #FND education course for health care providers we’re launching in June 2023. Despite how common FND is, knowledge is lacking! Help us change that.
