    In the forthcoming DSM-5 text revision, Functional Neurological Symptom Disorder (usually shortened to FND) will be the primary diagnostic label instead of Conversion Disorder. Blink and you’ll miss it

    1/People often ask is #FND neurological or psychological? I would argue this is the wrong question. Areas of the brain that process movement, pain & emotion are so intertwined there really isn’t such a division.

    There are few greater professional errors than accusing a patient of faking when they’re suffering. But its still an effective safety blanket for ignorance. Those who change their view open up a horrifying realisation that they have been abusing patients for years
