- I’m convinced ppl who think doctors don’t recommend lifestyle changes have never seen a doctor lolThe doctor of the future will prescribe heavy lifting, whole foods, high protein, clean drinking water & 10,000 steps a day.
- One time my off-service co-intern in the MICU asked me how to do a transfer note because up to that point, all his patients had died. He had not yet transferred anyone to the floor. If you wonder what being a resident in the MICU can be like amid a COVID surge. It is very dark.

- I overlapped in med school w/ Jack. This was a common refrain; I hated it. Demands for civil discourse is an elites’ tactic for preserving the status quo. This is the white moderate shit MLK talked about. No oppressed group’s rights were granted over polite debates among elites.
- This conversation is crazy and you have to admit there is a little bit of anti-doctor sentiment fueling it bc why would you as an expert consultant lump the fees paid to hospitals/facilities with physician fees? Show me a doctor taking home $30,000 per hour. I will wait all day.I do healthcare consulting for a living. It is simple math that we cannot reduce healthcare costs in this country without reducing the amounts we pay doctors and hospitals. Dr's cannot make $30k/hour in an affordable system.
- Less than 10% of health dollars go to Physicians. 7.3% to be precise. The idea from Eric Levitz et al that “cutting healthcare costs must come from cutting physicians salary & no place else” is hilarious. I think many specialists earn too much. But let’s be serious here, people.
