Marblehead and Swampscott weren't the only ones to get rings this fall. No body schedule any big games for April 2 🥰🥳🍾

Pioneer. Legend. Giant. There was no corner of the North Shore untouched by Jean. Countless families, multiple generations Be it Super Bowls or U9 Columbus Day soccer, her personal, positive touch made every kid a star. An immeasurable legacy + a void that will never be filled
Extremely saddened to report that our beloved and longtime sports correspondent, Jean DePlacido, passed away Sunday. Jean was a North Shore sports icon for 40+ years, someone that everyone knew, loved, & respected. Our deepest condolences go out to her family and many friends.

Whatever happens in the NEC my hat’s off to the kids speaking up. This thing being driven by students — not parents, not coaches, not media, not adults — ought to carry a ton of weight. Small groups of dedicated people change the world etc etc

Talking with Danny Letarte earlier and this came to me: Massachusetts needs new state baseball championship trophies like the football Agganis Trophy. And they need to be named the Pete Frates Trophy @MIAA033 @MassBCA @sjp_baseball

Here’s D2 state discus champion Alex Jackson of Peabody giving his medal to wheelchair discus champion Austin Cannon from King Philip since one wasn’t available. Track is such an amazing sport.

Peabody school committee member Brandi Carpenter notes kids have been playing and practicing all summer, "and clearly they're doing it well as we haven't had COVID clusters popping up."

What a thoughtful, classy gesture from Wilmington High’s football program to Peabody captain Mikey Mastrocola. Football is one big family here in the Bay State @Wilmington_AD @TannerCoach @MHSFCA4 @MichaelMastroc2

Tough loss for Peabody West but they finish as one of the best 24 Little League teams in the country and the 2nd best team in the 58-year history of their league. Much to be proud of for the 2021 Massachusetts state champs
