It's official - I am thrilled to share that I am joining @MITBiology, the @kochinstitute, and @MIT_IMES as an Assistant Professor this fall! We will be a hybrid lab combining new technologies and computation to study ecDNA and tumor evolution.

- Ecstatic to share that our recent study on the rates, routes, and drivers of cancer metastasis has been published in @ScienceMagazine today! A fantastic collaboration between @JswLab @YosefLab @BivonaLabUCSF. Link: bit.ly/391KVIZ
- Ecstatic to share our latest work studying tumor development with our CRISPR-based lineage tracer in a mouse model of Kras;p53-driven lung cancer! Honored to have co-led this with @dianyang1117, a stellar collaboration between @JswLab @YosefLab @LabJacks. tiny.cc/9cbruz
- We're ecstatic to present our manuscript on recording the evolutionary dynamics in a mouse model of lung cancer with an evolving lineage tracer. Congrats to @dianyang1117 for co-leading and @JswLab @YosefLab @LabJacks for this joint effort. Biorxiv link: tinyurl.com/f43de4nw
- I'm thrilled to share our new study of the spatial evolution of Kras;p53-driven mouse lung adenocarcinoma! It's been fantastic leading this with @dianyang1117 & @sundakao, and enjoying a long-standing collaboration with @JswLab @YosefLab & @insitubiology. biorxiv.org/cgi/content/shโฆ
- Delighted to share our review on lineage-tracing technologies in cancer biology, now available in Annual Reviews of Cancer Biology! We cover exciting new technologies and applications, and offer a perspective on what's next. We hope you find it useful: shorturl.at/sDEJ8
- Our manuscript describing Vision, a scalable framework for annotating scRNA-seq manifolds, is finally out in @NatureComms. A long effort with @YosefLab and @yimmieg -- check out the paper here:
- Ecstatic to see our latest effort published in @Nature! It's been a privilege co-leading this project with @kinglhung, @ivywtl, and EJ. We combined single-cell genomics, imaging, and evolutionary modeling to find that cooperative ecDNA species are co-inherited in mitosis.Cancer cells often harbor oncogenes outside chromosomes on extrachromosomal DNA (ecDNA), which is unevenly inherited by dividing cells. Today we report in @Nature that collectives of ecDNAs are inherited together by dividing cancer cells. 1/ nature.com/articles/s4158โฆ
- I'm excited to introduce a preprint describing TreeVAE, a project led by Khalil Ouardini, a fantastic Master's student who spent the past year interning with @_romain_lopez_ and myself in the @YosefLab. Here's the preprint: bit.ly/3i5aSw6
- I'm ecstatic to introduce the published form of our joint effort between @JswLab and @YosefLab characterizing Cassiopeia, our tool for inferring phylogenies from CRISPR/Cas9-enabled lineage tracing data! See our manuscript now published in @GenomeBiology: bit.ly/2RGJA17
- I am delighted to share my recent work, the product of an excellent collaboration with Kaiyuan Zhu and @Jens_Luebeck in the Bafna lab, that describes CoRAL: our tool for reconstructing focal amplifications, like ecDNA, from long-read data:
- Exciting news! It's been a privilege to train in @HowardYChang's lab these past few years and I'm thrilled for the new opportunities that this brings for @Amgen as well as for the trainees in his group.Excited to welcome @HowardYChang to @Amgen as our new SVP for Research & CSO! A pioneering physician-scientist, Howardโs expertise in genetics, oncology, & inflammation will help us push the boundaries of discovery. Weโre excited to embark on this journey together to redefine the
- I'm excited to finally introduce Cassiopeia, a new algorithm for inferring phylogenies from CRISPR-based single-cell lineage tracing techs! We use new benchmarking data to show Cassiopeia's improved accuracy as well as suggest future tech design principles disq.us/t/3iv5nxk
