They're the smart ones. They get what amounts to private tutoring from a globally leading scientist. Sometimes winning really is mostly just showing up.

I refrained from commenting until a proper journalistic outlet confirmed. Now that's happened, this is next-level insanity and seems quite illegal.

This is crazy town. #PatientZero in Perth was recently allowed to travel from Aus to India for a wedding and back. But there are tens of thousands of stranded Australians awaiting access to return. I just do not understand this prioritization. #COVID19

I was subject to a no-grounds eviction from my #NSW #rental property about 8 weeks ago. After 7.5 years in my property - never missing a payment or asking for a reduction during COVID - I was given 30d to get out. My sin? ... 1/n

Dear @ScottMorrisonMP @billshortenmp: despite political differences I am certain you can agree there is no room for explicit support of Nazi ideology in Australian parliament. Will you move to censure Sen Anning for his participation in a far right rally at taxpayer expense?

#Housing #greed destroys lives. We need full reform of renters protections in #NSW @ChrisMinnsMP Being forced to move on a no-grounds eviction cost me a huge chunk of savings. If even professionals like me are getting smashed, those less fortunate have no hope /fin

We need a wholesale change in the economy away from property investment as a specially advantaged asset. I was, frankly, wealthy enough and stable enough in my jobs to take time and eat the cost. A single mother? Impossible. A shift worker? Impossible. 12/n

Peak #Sydney #privateschool entitlement. The hashtag #ProudShoreMums, coupled w/ args based on "not all #Shore boys" & "other schools are doing the same" used to deflect criticism of indefensible behavior. The kids learn it from their parents. @JaneCaro

But even if you don't care about the social impacts, let's take the pure economic rationalism approach. If we want a diversified economy with high-wage jobs in #NSW, people have to be able to comfortably afford to live here and have security in their lives. /fin +1

This landlord owned a fleet of rental properties. I get that as an asset class, property investors want to maximize returns. Therein lies the problem. Because housing is a necessity for the functioning of a civilization AND it's also the most tax-advantaged asset in AU. 11/n

Minister - doctors triage patients based on how sick they are. If any Australians are delayed in receiving treatment it's only because you delayed #AsylumSeekers treatment so long that they have become the most seriously ill patients in hospital.
Home Affairs Minister @PeterDutton_MP on asylum seekers: “We’re seeing people at hospitals missing out on medical services because people are taking it from Nauru and Manus. Australians will be angry about that as well.” #auspol #7News

My ~70yo mother arrived at the polls at 5:55 am in suburban New York today. She waited in a line circling the block for an hour and a half to #VoteBiden. Suburban New York. The #turnout is insane.

Even without context, it blows my mind that government #FreedomofInformation requests are adjudicated by senior advisers to the politicians in question rather than an independent third party in government. #auspol smh.com.au/politics/feder…
