Anyone who’s been around long enough knows how I feel about this utter BS, but I’ll say it again: It is not ableist or classist to be anti-AI. I have severe dysgraphia and ADHD. I don’t use AI to write, even if writing and editing take me longer than it takes others. 🧵

It has come to our attention that a book we recently reviewed has multiple cover variants circulating, some of which contain AI-generated artwork. While the original cover submitted to us at the time of the review request did not appear to use AI, we’ve now confirmed that the🧵

I get that it was a lot of drama, but I still wish that the human artists could be recognized in future years for their work on our covers. It seems like there could be a few volunteers from the artist community to verify AI involvement, as they did in this case, but privately.
