Can we stop all this low-temperature-slow-cooked-egg nonsense once and for all? Please. They are NEVER as satisfying as a beautifully poached egg. Never. Always a bit wobbly, blubbery and frankly rather unpleasant. Let’s hear it for properly cooked eggs. Thanks.

Blimey, is this a thing? I have been filtering like this for over 30 years. What’s the problem? Or just a difficult copper?

Never tire of making or eating these. The very first dish I learned to make at Bibendum 28 years ago!

Long and slow is the way to go. 8hr shoulder of lamb with flageolets, white wine and a lot of garlic. Proper old school - that’s me.

We are now shut until further notice. I very much look forward to seeing all our customers and particularly our wonderful staff when we reopen. Whenever that might be. Good health to all.

Today’s onion tart. One of the best things you’ll ever eat. And yes, I am biased.

Even more absurd is the £3,999.99 price tag; if you can afford a 4k btl of wine, you’re not that fussed about the 1p!
