Rhode Island State Representative, District 48, 2009 - present; House Minority Leader, 2011-2017
- By extending the state of emergency we are making a mockery of the very idea. The legislature is meeting regularly. When PC can host a packed house at the Dunk for a nationally important game there is no "emergency".
- A Governor who can so blatantly flaunt the executive orders and directives she expects one million people to follow - no matter how important or wise those directives may be - will be unable to command the respect of others. Why should anyone listen to her now?
- Anyone know why there is a mass of oil flowing down the river in downtown Providence right now?
- If a RI Republican Rep said something as inflammatory and ridiculous as this our local press would already be calling/emailing every other elected Republican asking them if they agreed/disagreed so they could write a story about it. I'm sure the same rules apply to Democrats. As an elected official in Rhode Island, I will do everything in my power to defend and protect our undocumented immigrant communities. ICE is not welcomed in the state.
- Time for Rhode Island to follow suit:NEW: @GovNedLamont says he will no longer pursue an electric vehicle sales mandate in CT Today Lamont told me he expects the incoming Trump administration to end the current @EPA standard @CTSenateGOP responded: “This is a victory for Connecticut taxpayers"
00:00 - This can't be real, can it? RI Democrats openly advocating to hurt local businesses. Any elected Democrats like to push back on this?Democrat party of the state instructs people not to shop at any Rhode Island stores.
- It has been almost three weeks since this story broke. Other than this out of state blogger, I have seen zero mention of this in the RI press. 1/8 🧵tbdailynews.com/democratic-cam…
- This is really outrageous. Only the General Assembly should have such power. @GovDanMcKee and his unelected staff are out of control. People should simply say "enough" and engage in mass disobedience of what I think is an illegal executive order to begin with. The governor's order creates an "enforcement task force" to police the new mask-or-vax policy, and also lets Dr. Alexander-Scott "assess civil penalties for violation of this Order"
- It's disappointing to see Common Cause RI act like this. They used to be a nonpartisan good government organization that operated as a real watchdog at the State House. That has been changing slowly over the years. Now they have openly become a full on pro-Democrat group."There is an unprecedented assault on democracy as we know it happening in Washington, D.C., and we need our United States Senators and Representatives to do more to stop it" - John Marion, Common Cause Rhode Island's executive director, speaking at a rally on Saturday, 2/8/25.
- Can't get over this. The @RIDemParty is run by children. Openly advocating to hurt business because why? Pathetic. If the @RIGOPChairman did something so stupid @kathyprojo would be interviewing all GOP members today about whether we agreed. I expect @projo to do same to Dems.
- This is a lie. I expect it from the national news media but hoped our local press would be better. I guess not.Former President Donald Trump warned of a "bloodbath" if he loses in November as he campaigned for a Senate candidate in Ohio. turnto10.com/news/nation-wo…
