BLS LAUNCHES LIMBSTAT

BLS Launches Limbstat – Measure limb volumes accurately and efficiently

BLS-Limbstat launches a useful tool for the clinic and home environment to improve calculations of limb volumes. BLS Trustee, Rachael Hutton developed the tool after years of resorting to the tried and tested scientific calculator, when a patient asked her why staff use calculators instead of a spreadsheet.

Rachael said “Carrying out a limb volume entails full concentration. Often, it can be time-consuming especially when errors occur during or after inserting the digits into the calculator and as a result the whole calculation process needs to be repeated.”

The tool is based on the paper format of limb volume charts, so practitioners will be familiar with the layout. They will be able to create graphs of the measurements, providing practitioners and patients with a visual representation of the data.
