Anthony Florez is a Native American writer and director from Reno. He is a member of the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe of Northern Nevada. In 2018, Anthony was selected for the 21st Century Fox Writers Lab and was awarded the Tisch School of Arts Dean’s Fellowship in television writing to study at New York University’s Graduate Dramatic Writing Program (Tisch). Anthony directed his own narrative short film “TwoBears” as a 2020 Vision Maker Media short film fellow and went on to work as a staff writer on the TV shows “Deputy” (Fox), “Dark Winds” (AMC), “Power Book IV: Force” (Starz), and the upcoming “Splinter Cell” (Netflix). Anthony serves as the Co-Chair of the WGA Native American and Indigenous Writers Committee (NAIWC). He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2008 and served on active duty for six years.
