Hi team, We’re planning to use Linux devices as kiosks and digital signage and want to manage them in groups. So, we need the devices to: Always run in a specific app. Restart the app automatically if it stops. Be monitored from the Hexnode portal. Does Hexnode support this on Linux devices?
Our Linux fleet has grown quite a bit, and we’re starting to see configuration drift across devices. Small changes add up over time, and manual fixes don’t really hold. Curious how others are dealing with this without constant manual intervention?
We’ve been managing our Linux machines with SSH and a few Ansible playbooks for years. It worked great in the beginning, but now that the fleet’s grown, access and visibility are getting messy. Is SSH still practical once you're dealing with hundreds of devices? Curious how others are handling this.
I tried to enforce encryption on my Linux devices using a script through Hexnode UEM, but it didn’t work. How can I do this?
We’re excited to introduce Multi-Session Support in Remote View — a powerful upgrade that makes remote troubleshooting faster, smoother, and more flexible. Hey everyone, we are trying something a bit different at our schools, we are looking to roll out Linux devices to students instead of the usual Chromebooks. I know it's not the typical choice, but we're exploring new options. Anyone here used kiosk mode on Linux, and how to configure it?
I was switching between KDE and i3 on my Linux laptop and what the hell. Why does Kde feel like a full office setup, and i3 feels like a blank workspace with just windows stacked neatly? Aren’t they both just “desktops”? I don’t get why there is such a huge difference.
Our developers mainly use MacOS. However, there are a few that would like to run linux. We have certain policies in our organization that describe the requirements that need to be met inorder to use in this case operating systems. A big one is making sure that de disks are encrypted and the encryption key…
