In 2022, CellPath was acquired by US-based StatLab Medical Products and has now successfully been incorporated into their family companies.
StatLab has been dedicated to helping anatomic pathology laboratories provide the best possible patient care since 1976. We offer an extensive portfolio of self-manufactured consumables and labelling and tracking equipment from five manufacturing sites in the United States, United Kingdom and Germany. Our global operational footprint powered by over 500 mission-driven colleagues delivers a dependable and resilient supply chain of high-quality products and solutions and a customer-centric approach inspires us to deliver reliability, innovation and quality in every interaction.

CellPath is a UK-based company specialising in manufacturing and worldwide supply of consumables, equipment, and services to the cellular pathology sector.
Our name is synonymous with innovative, precise and well-proven products manufactured to a very high standard. We have a state-of-the-art injection moulding capability at our headquarters in Wales, allowing us to differentiate ourselves in the marketplace by directly manufacturing many of the plastic products used in modern histology and cytology laboratories.
Expansion and infrastructure investment over recent years have increased our manufacturing capability, allowing us to introduce additional products to the market such as chemicals, stains, tissue marking dyes and fixatives.
CellPath has a continuous improvement process built around a strong desire to maintain a high level of quality, and we are currently certified to ISO 13485:2016 standards.
CellNass is an innovative, national archive management service delivered by CellPath. Launched in 2003, the service was originally intended for the archiving of cellular pathology blocks and slides, although this has been expanded to cover multiple disciplines with materials such as blood spot cards, transfusion records, documents, paper reports and more over recent years. As a result, CellNass is now able to provide a complete archive management solution, ideal for hospitals and laboratories with limited or expensive-to-run onsite storage space.
CellNass is licensed by the Human Tissue Authority (HTA licence number 12434) and is subject to a detailed inspection programme based on compliance evaluation and site visits. We, therefore, provide a safe and secure environment that meets the highest standards of archiving for cellular pathology samples.
The majority of NHS hospitals are now using the service, and we are proud to boast a 100% customer retention figure.
Launched in January 2019, CellSolv supplies and disposes of tissue processing chemicals used in cellular pathology. We aim to be the market-leading supply and waste management company in our sector, achieved through providing a first-class service, adopting innovative practices, supplying a complete range of high-quality products, and responsibly managing any collected chemical waste.
We take pride in being ISO:13485 certified, meaning hospitals can rest assured that the products they receive are consistently of the highest quality and that any chemical waste they produce will be collected by full trained staff, and either recycled where possible or disposed of in-line with current regulations.
