Who is your greatest enemy? Fear? Yourself? My brain, My brain is my greatest enemy,
There are times, That my brain is useful, There are times, My brain is holding a knife, Trying to backstab me, In every inch and corner, To bleed me dry,
It forced me to read, Search things in the internet, Made connection of something, And conclude my delusions,
For what? Just to take me down, Keeping me on the ground, Trapped me in an iron maiden.

Have you watched Inside Out? A movie by Disney Pixar that was released in 2015. I was talking to my therapist about how sometimes I feel nostalgic about certain things but I can’t figure out why I feel that way. It feels like certain things reminded me of something that I might have forgotten but my brain and body still recognised it. Then, she recommended this movie to me.
Previously, we were talking about purpose and she recommended the movie Soul (2020). I did a post about it. In case you missed out, you can read it here.
A little bit of summary on IMDB about Inside Out (2015).
After young Riley is uprooted from her Midwest life and moved to San Francisco, her emotions – Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust, and Sadness – conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house, and school.
It’s a really interesting movie and gave a little insight into how our experiences and memories are connected to our minds and emotions. Personally, it is a really interesting way to visualize how things work inside our brains. One thing that really stood me up is how memories can be perceived differently based on how we actually feel and associate them with.
I don’t know about you but sometimes, whenever I try to recall some memories, it appears neutral and plain. But, whenever somebody asks questions like;
What is your happiest memory?
When was the last time you cried? And why?
Have you felt disappointed lately?
Then, I felt aware that I’m associating certain memories with emotions. And then, the concept of core memories. The memories that shaped your personality and carry it through your whole life.
For example, if somebody asked me about someone that made me feel loved. I might have a memory that associated me with being loved by someone I knew. Others might have different answers based on their core memory of being loved.
However, a core memory doesn’t have to be something with just one emotion involved. I guess, a person that used to be in our life and showed us love which then later left and gave us pain, sadness, and heartbreak too. The core memory is that person including all the joy and sadness we had to experience.
I think what hit me the most is what are my core memories?
I had some thoughts about it and there are times I’m able to like remember vividly what kind of memories I have when associating it with something. There are times when I don’t think I remember anything at all. Not to mention, unless there is a specific trigger, I might not even remember it existed. It got me wondering, how my memory works.
Probably because I’ve been in survival mode for so long, I’m slowly forgetting them. For example, how I used to self-harm and the way I did it. I can’t help to wonder what kind of memories made me the version I am today.
If I were to at least describe what kind of memories and emotions I frequently feel nowadays, it is between feeling motivated and working myself to feeling lonely and yearning for communication and deeper connection.
In a way, I believe that whatever I’m going through now, might be a core memory in the future. All these new experiences, healing, struggles, figuring out, and more to come will be a part of myself that I will look back on as a memory. Like how now, I can remember vividly how I started this journey and all the turns I took to get here.
I’ll just make memories as I am living through the present. It doesn’t matter how little or insignificant it is. I guess it is the same as life purpose too. The smaller ones do work wonders too. For example, a quick interaction with a stranger but the words and smiles they shared feel forever. Yep, I’ve experienced those a lot. And somehow, they are a part of my memory now.
Becoming a life coach is not something I ever thought of until recently. Specifically, after I completed the Mind Gardening with Arts by A Lusher Mind. I asked A Lusher Mind why she started the program. She told me that it is a way for her to give back to the community. I felt that is something noble and I feel inspired.
At the same time, I’ve worked with several coaches previously when I was in corporate and I was reminded of how fun and motivating it was. Apart from that, I noticed that some of my friends whenever we hang out said the same thing over and over again.
“Whenever we hang out, we will always talk about life and experiences. You gave good words and motivations too.”
It has been something that I’ve always done and it helps my friends, why not explore and learn about life coaching more? So, I started to search and read about how to be a life coach. After all the consideration and my Instagram algorithm are feeding me all the ads and information.
So, I choose to get my life coaching certificate from Transformation Academy. I choose the Master Life Coach Certification consisted of four accredited courses such as Professional Life Coach, Life Purpose Life Coach, Happiness Life Coach, and Goal Success Life Coach. I’ve completed two, the Professional Life Coach and Happiness Life Coach. I’m still undergoing the rest of the courses.
Master Life Coach Certification is just one of the many available courses. There are other Master Coach programs that you might want to be interested in. You can check them out here.
You can get 50% OFF during checkout by applying the code ALLY50. Allow me to be transparent, I am also a Transformation Ambassador, which means I will get a commission whenever you sign up for their courses or membership either using the link or using the code I shared. In a way, you are helping too.
Apart from being inspired and feeling motivated, I somehow feel that it is something that I am comfortable doing and accomplishing. I feel that it aligns with my personality and unknowingly, it has been something that I’ve been doing all along. So, I believe it is really something that I should explore and at the same time apply the things I learned for myself as well,
I hope, I will be able to give back and helps other people as well. This is a journey and not a destination. I wish everyone a great day ahead!
I have so many things to talk about, But I rather talk about my feelings and thoughts, Because it’s the closest war to home, I’m a soldier in this war, alone,
It has been going on for so long, Trying to survive every bullet shot, Every ambush in every corner and field, To see and feel another sunrise,
I’m still not used to this fear, In a war without a sign of victory, Who are the enemies, Only me and my phantoms,
But the wound inflicted, Leaving scars never healed.
