VR Sync

  • Is it possible to create a video playlist? arrow-forward

    Yes, VR Sync allows you to create a video playlist. Navigate to remote inside the VR Sync dashboard and select the videos in the order you want them to play. When you’ve selected all the videos you want in the playlist, click the button play in the top right in the select commands field. VR Sync will now play the playlist on all connected devices.

  • Is it possible to sync 2 different kinds of headsets at the same time? arrow-forward

    Yes, it is possible to sync 2 or more different kinds of headsets at the same time. As long as all devices are compatible with VR Sync it is possible to sync them at the same time by entering your licence pincode.

  • Do you offer a free trial for VR Sync? arrow-forward

    Yes, we offer a free trial to test out VR Sync. We introduce you to the software and how to set it up. It is also possible to get a trial of the complete package, Hardware and software. This way it is also possible to try the software out without possessing the required hardware.

  • Is it possible to watch 180 degree content with VR Sync? arrow-forward

    No, at this moment it is not possible to play 180 degree videos with VR Sync. It is possible to encode the video to double the width of the video with a black background. This allows the video to be played by VR Sync. 

    VR Sync supports:

    • 360 degree equirectangular videos
    • 360 degree equi-angular videos (Youtube)
    • Regular 2D media
    • 360 degree images
  • What happens if a device gets turned off during a session? arrow-forward

    If a headset gets turned off, either accidentally or when the battery runs out, the content will not stop playing on the other devices. When the device is turned back on it will sync with the current session and start the video where the other headsets are as well.

  • Is it possible to use my own custom branding in VR Sync? arrow-forward

    Yes, VR Sync allows you to customize the waiting room in the VR headset that’s being shown before the video starts. You can do this by uploading a custom background image, selecting a colour or by uploading a custom logo in the content manager. These brand items are visible when no content is playing on the devices.

  • What are the recommended specifications of my 360 videos? arrow-forward

    The recommended specifications for 360 videos are as follows:

    • Codec: H265 or H264
    • Resolution: 3840 x 1920
    • FPS: 30
    • Max bitrate: 16mb/s
    • Audio: Stereo AAC audio or .tbe (Two Big Ears) at 44,1kHz

    Please note your performance may vary depending on the device. We recommend testing the content on each different device to make sure the video gets played correctly.

  • How much content can I upload on my account? arrow-forward

    VR Sync allows you to upload 10 pieces of content to your account through the dashboard. If you require more files please contact the support team.

  • Does VR Sync support 4K resolution? arrow-forward

    Yes, VR Sync supports 360 degree equirectangular and 360 degrees equi-angular (Youtube) video projections up to 4K resolutions. We recommend a resolution up to 3840 x 1920 even though some devices may support a higher resolution. This recommendation is made based on a wide range of devices and videos to make sure you get a pleasant VR experience. We recommend testing the devices to make sure there are no surprise issues when using the software.

  • Is it possible to play different videos on different devices? arrow-forward

    Yes it is possible to play different videos on different devices at the same time with VR Sync. This is done with the grouping functionality. This video will show you how to set this up through the remote.

  • What devices can be used as the remote? arrow-forward

    To use the VR Sync Remote application you need a device that has access to a modern internet browser. This can be done on any modern smartphone, tablet or computer (Windows & Mac).

  • How many devices can I connect with my VR Sync account? arrow-forward

    The amount of devices you can connect with your VR Sync account depends on the amount of licences you purchased. There is no limit on how many devices you can use as long as you have the same amount of licences. You can check the amount of available active devices on your VR Sync dashboard.

  • What devices does VR Sync support? arrow-forward

    VR Sync supports the following devices:

    • Most Android based phones
    • HTC Vive Focus Plus

  • How can I send content to my account? arrow-forward

    To upload content, navigate to Content manager in the VR Sync dashboard. Click the upload button and select the file you wish to upload. Select after uploading the right projection method of your video with the checklist below your file name. After clicking publish, the content will be downloaded to your devices once the VR Sync application is opened.
