Location & Scheduling

CFISD Virtual Academy instruction takes place 100% online.

While students must log in daily, students may complete most of their work in the order and at the time of their choosing with one to two required live virtual sessions per class each week when students log on at the same time as their teacher and classmates.

CFISD Virtual Academy students will be invited to come to our campus for optional in-person meet-ups, study halls, and work sessions.

CFISD Virtual Academy students ARE REQUIRED to attend CFISD facilities for state testing, AP, and certification testing (STAAR/EOC/AP/CTE certification tests).

CFISD Flex Learning students will spend the majority of their day at their face-to-face home campus with up to TWO virtual courses scheduled during a period of the student’s regular school day. Students can choose to arrive late or leave early and take their virtual course(s) at the time of their choosing or students can choose to remain on campus and complete their virtual course(s) in supervised study hall setting.

Why might a student choose to a take a virtual class at school?
If it is a class they need, but is not offered at a time that fits into their schedule, or if they want access to an online learning experience.

CFISD Supplemental Courses are taken completely online outside of the regular school day. Students and families can choose where and when all coursework is completed; however, students must log in daily and meet all course submission deadlines just like a face-to-face class.
Eligibility CFISD Virtual Academy is open to all current CFISD resident students and out-of-district students may transfer to the program.
