6TH APRIL’18 – A TO Z CHALLENGE – LETTER ‘F’

6th April’18 – Letter ‘F’

The word I choose for the letter ‘F’ is Forgiving.

The quote I choose to go with the word Forgiving is- “Holding a grudge doesn’t make you strong; it makes you bitter. Forgiving doesn’t make you weak; it sets you free”.

Nobody is perfect and we all tend to do some or the other mistake in our life. There is no point holding grudge against anyone, as it will only hinder your inner peace. Yes, it is easy to say to forgive and forget but it is actually very very very difficult to practice.

DAY 5- NAPOWRIMO’18 – Colour as mesmerized!

Published 05th April 2018 by viewsofpreethib

Day 5:  Today’s (optional) prompt, we’d like to challenge you to write a poem that, like the work in Translucence, reacts both to photography and to words in a language not your own. Begin with a photograph. Now find a poem in a language you don’t know (here’s a good place to look!) Ignore any accompanying English translation (maybe cover it up, or cut-and-paste the original into a new document). Now start translating the poem into English, with the idea that the poem is actually “about” your photograph. Use the look and feel of the words in the original to guide you along as you write, while trying to describe your photograph. It will be a bit of a balancing act, but hopefully it will lead to new and beautiful (and possibly very weird) places.

I choose a poem in the Dutch Language, found this poem from one of the participants called Van Son Coaching (Angela van Son) of NaPoWrimo Challenge on Facebook and below is the link of her blog where is has posted her poem “Consumptie is moord”.

https://stijfsels.wordpress.com/2016/04/30/consumptie-is-moord/

Dutch Poem by Angela van Son:

Consumptie is moord

Elke uitgave
draait eindeloze alternatieven
de nek om

Elke hap
slacht ongeboren potentieel

Elke slok
brengt om
wat nog niet is

Elke gedachte
versteent

Now my take on today’s prompt is :

5th April’18 – Letter ‘E’

The word I choose for the letter ‘E’ is Empathy.

The quote’s I choose to go with the word Empathy is – “The ability to step into the shoes of another person, aiming to understand their feelings and perspectives, and to use that understanding to guide our actions.”

“Empathy is about standing in someone else’s shoes, Feeling with his/her Heart, Seeing with his/her Eyes. Not only is Empathy hard to outsource and automate, But it makes the world a better place.”

DAY 4- NAPOWRIMO’18 – Justice!

Published 04th April 2018 by viewsofpreethib

Day 4Today’s prompt (optional) : Our craft resource today focuses on the use of concrete nouns and specific details, using the idea of “putting a dog in it.” Today, we challenge you to write a poem that is about something abstract – perhaps an ideal like “beauty” or “justice,” but which discusses or describes that abstraction in the form of relentlessly concrete nouns. Adjectives are fine too! For example, you could have a poem about sadness that describes that emotion as “a rowboat tethered with fishing line to a willow that leans over a pond. Rainwater collects in the bottom, and mosquito eggs.” Concrete details like those can draw the reader in and let them imagine the real world where your abstract ideal or feeling happens.

I have no idea if I have got this prompt right 😛 I just tried, didn’t come out that well 😛 . But, hope to do better in future… 🙂

Justice!

Pin drop silence,
In the hour of need,
Awaiting for a moment,
To create history.

One judgement can change,
The dark clouds that’s hovered,
Into a luminous light,
Bringing an end to mystery.

4TH APRIL’18 – A TO Z CHALLENGE – LETTER ‘D’

Published 04th April 2018 by viewsofpreethib

4th April’18 – Letter ‘D’

The word I choose for the letter ‘D’ is Dance.

The quote’s I choose to go with the word Dance is -“DANCE Isn’t Just DANCE, It’s MAGICAL, something that sets “YOU FREE”.

“I DANCE to be free, to forget, and so that I can have something to love when I feel like nothing loves me”.

Today I have another personal story of mine to share. It is an incident which took place in 2015. We had to take a two patient sharing ward in the hospital which actually turned to a situation where both dad and mom were admitted. At one corner of the room laid my mom on a bed and on the other corner laid my dad on his bed and I alone the attendee to take care of two patients. I have to mention I did get help; thankfully my aunt (mom’s younger sister Pushpa aunty) was my angel who helped me so much during this tough phase, my uncle (mom’s elder brother Prathap Mama) who tried to be my strength and helped silently in many ways. And few more relatives of mine who supported emotionally and those who didn’t get tired for three months at a stretch to send home cooked healthy meals to us. Thank you all so much for being there and giving all the support.

DAY 3- NAPOWRIMO’18 – Musical Band List!

Published 03rd April 2018 by viewsofpreethib

Day 3: Today’s prompt (optional as always), is inspired by our interview with Peter Davis. As he indicates there, his latest book is rooted in endlessly writing ideas for band names. Today, we challenge you to try this out yourself by writing a list poem in which all the items are made-up names. If band names don’t inspire, how about a list of titles for romantic novels? Or new television cop dramas? They can be as over-the-top as you like, because that’s (at least) half the fun. Happy writing!

Musical Band List!

Music is like air,
Makes me alive in a span,
Food to my soul are,
The list of bands I listen…

Spicing up life with “Spice Girls”,
Venting out heart with “Backstreet Boys”,
Dreams of a fancy-trip with “Westlife”,
Did you know, “Michale Learns To Rock”, 😉 😛

3rd APRIL’18 – A TO Z CHALLENGE – LETTER ‘C’

Published 03rd April 2018 by viewsofpreethib

3rd April’18 – Letter ‘C’

The word I choose for the letter ‘C’ is Caring.

The quote I choose to go with the word Caring is“When you TRULY CARE for someone, their mistakes never changes our Feelings because it is the mind that gets angry but the heart still CARES”.

I am sure everyone would have gone through this feeling at-least once in their lifetime.

We can easily give-up on those people who are an acquaintance, a formal friend, someone who is an option in our life and not a part of our life. When we disagree with them or get angry with such people we tend to leave them, we do not try to clear out the misunderstanding, we do not try to speak to them, do not try to give them a chance again. But, what if it is someone who is very important to you? What if that person means the world to you? What if the existence of that person in your life is very important? What if you cannot imagine life without this person?

Day 2- NaPoWrimo’18 – Intimacy!

Published 02nd April 2018 by viewsofpreethib

Day 2: Today’s prompt (optional, as always). Taking a cue from our craft resource, we’d like to challenge you to write a poem that plays with voice. For example, you might try writing a stanza that recounts something in the first-person, followed by a stanza recounting the same incident in the second-person, followed by a stanza that treats the incident from a third-person point of view. Or you might try a poem in the form of a dialogue, which necessarily has two “I” speakers, addressing two “you”s. Another way to go is to take an existing poem of yours or someone else’s, and try rewriting it in a different voice. The point is just to play with who is speaking to who and how. Happy writing!

Intimacy!

Intimacy,
is making love,
He said,

You guys,
Just can’t think beyond sex,
She said.

2nd April’18 – A TO Z CHALLENGE – Letter ‘B’

Published 02nd April 2018 by viewsofpreethib

2nd April’18 – Letter ‘B’

The word I choose for the letter ‘B’ is Bold.

The quote I choose to go with the word Bold is – “Now I’ll be BOLD as well as STRONG and use MY HEAD alongside MY HEART”.

Today I would like to share one of my personal experiences I had been through when I was a kid, of seven and a half years(I guess). My parents were working and hence they had to appoint a tuition teacher who would come in the evening and stay with us till night until my parents were back.

Day 1- NaPoWrimo’18 – Secret Pleasure!

Published 01st April 2018 by viewsofpreethib

Day 1- 2nd prompt – Write a poem based off of Lauren Russell’s collaborative poetry exercise. Today, we challenge you to write a poem that is based on a secret shame, or a secret pleasure. It could be eating too many cookies, or bad movies, or the time you told your sister she could totally brush her teeth with soap. It’s up to you.

I wasn’t gonna write on this prompt but at the last minute I got an inspiration to try it out. Thank you Smitha for being my inspiration. 🙂 This one is just for you 🙂

Secret Pleasure!

Shhhh, don’t say it loudly,
You have to keep it a secret,
Yes, Yes, I am guilty,
During day or night.
Time is not my priority.
